Re: December 2013 Retakers
Taking PT's at 8am every weekend, and waking up at 5:45 for the last two weeks has worked out WELL. It's 9:48am in AZ and I feel like I could run a damn marathon. I better have this much energy come Saturday

Going to run through the 2 LR sections from PT 70 back2back with no break. Since I've seen them twice, I'm limiting myself to 60 minutes for the 51 problems.

Thanks Bee! I love your POE. And Dosto, don't tell me about it: I chose B so confidently all three times lol.dosto wrote:I chose B so confidently on test day...bee wrote:argument: most ppl favor & doesnt violate, BUT wont be passed promptly (might not be passed at all)retaking23 wrote:The one downside to this score is that -1 only because I've gotten that specific question wrong each time I took this exam and as recently as last week. Section 1, #23. I chose the same wrong choice each and every time too. See, I'm consistent with my mistakes. I've reviewed it thoroughly but I do not know why I still got it wrong. Brain fail. If anyone can provide a very simple explanation with emphasis on how you would eliminate the wrong answer choices, I would be very grateful.
conclusion: because of the argument above, this country is not a well functioning democracy (if its a demo. at all)
so in order to justify this conclusion, we want to add information that would complete the argument and make the conclusion sensible.
a) we dont know anything about who the bill would benefit, out of scope
b) the word "eventually" leaves open the possibility that the country in the stim could still be a well func. demo.
c) totally irrelevant
d) doesnt give us any information that would help justify our conclusion
e) ding ding ding.
IF the bill doesnt violate rights/most people favor it, THEN it will past PROMPTLY, otherwise the country is not a well func. demo. this totally justifies the conclusion drawn.
I envy you so much. I woke up early again today. Ate breakfast and had so much time on my hands that I watched an hour of the news and The Crocodile Hunter. Galapagos Island imagery made me feel so relaxed, that I went back to sleep.Austinbound wrote:Taking PT's at 8am every weekend, and waking up at 5:45 for the last two weeks has worked out WELL. Re: December 2013 Retakers
2nd retake of 70 for 179.
Taken as: LG, LR2, LR1, RC, RC (47)
LG -0
LR2 -0
LR1 -1 (a question I got right both times)
RC -2 I explicitly thought I recalled C being wrong on #16. I picked it for both of the other takes and got it right though. There's a case of recollection taking a point. Still, though, I should've figured C was justifiable, as E is clearly not justifiable. And #17 is tricky - I missed it each time. Had B on it here and A was the other choice left. I do see that there's no evidence that the implications were flattering while at least there's a smidgeon of evidence for the 'ungenerous' claim.
47 RC -3 (-1 blind review) Fresh section and I liked that I was reasonably accurate and efficient on it, given it was 5th.

Just had to pop in to wish you guys the best of luck and make a few posts of encouragement to fellow retakers.. I'm sad I won't be able to matriculate with you guys but just doing what's best for me. I have UT/SMU in my sights still..but I feel like another year waiting will be beneficial for me

Re: December 2013 Retakers
Definitely shouldn't have taken PT63 today... things were going so well until I imploded on RC. I went -8. I was going to end with 63, but I'm thinking I should do a retake of one I know I will score well on to boost my confidence. Any thoughts?

I've been doing pretty well other than this (a few off sections, but nothing this bad...) so maybe a few sections is the right way to go. Thanks!dosto wrote:If you need the confidence boost, do it. If you're comfortable knowing it was probably a fluke and can put it behind you, then I'd just do a few sections and call it a day.CookieDough wrote:Definitely shouldn't have taken PT63 today... things were going so well until I imploded on RC. Please don't burn out. If you end up with another abnormally bad section, call it quits and rest. Doing any more will kill ur confidence and just continue to tire you out.CookieDough wrote:I've been doing pretty well other than this (a few off sections, but nothing this bad...) so maybe a few sections is the right way to go. Re: December 2013 Retakers
For test day...
When we write the certification/certifying statement right before we start the exam on test day, does it matter if the certifying statement is in print or in script/cursive? I was listening to the 7sage video and he goes over the instructions the proctors will give during the exam, and they say you cannot print when writing the certifying statement. I am not sure if I should write in print or in script/cursive handwriting. . . which one are we supposed to write in?
