Re: December 2013 Retakers
Pretty pumped from my PT69 results today. I got my first perfect section, and second perfect section!
LR1: -2
RC: -2
LG: -0
LR2: -0
So I have that going for me. I am usually pretty tight on time for RC, I hope I get it early since that seems to help with that. My October test i had the experimental RC as the second section and the real one last, my nightmare. They also called time 3 minutes early, started collecting our tests, passed them back out, and then gave us time to finish. I didn't finish the last three and ended up getting all three wrong, and I really shouldn't have. Just so I get above a 171 I will be thrilled.
I am not a fan of how late these scores get back, do most people send in their applications and then tell them to hold for your December score?

97, 179.
Pretty pumped as I've had a bunch of 178-180s in last set of PTs. Am I alone in worrying PT 71 is gonna come in super hot and teach us all that retakes are massively inflated?

Re: December 2013 Retakers
congratulations dosto! retake or not, seeing that 180 so close to the test is...well, 180.dosto wrote:Put off grading this for three days because it felt rough, but glad I ended up doing it.
PT62 (retake from June)
RC -2
LR -0
LG -0
LR -0
100/102 180
Retake so obviously inflated but still feels nice, especially on what should be last PT ever. This thing was still a beast; don't know what LSAC was thinking.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
PT 70 for third time.
180
100/101
First ever 180
The one downside to this score is that -1 only because I've gotten that specific question wrong each time I took this exam and as recently as last week. Section 1, #23. I chose the same wrong choice each and every time too. See, I'm consistent with my mistakes. I've reviewed it thoroughly but I do not know why I still got it wrong. Brain fail. If anyone can provide a very simple explanation with emphasis on how you would eliminate the wrong answer choices, I would be very grateful.
And it has also hit me that this is it, I will never take an LSAT at home again. I'm actually a little sad about this. IDKY

Do you guys know any games similar to PT68-G4 (brute force) so I can practice?. I finished on time because the first 3 weren't bad but this is the first game I've encountered that I had to brute force every single question because I couldn't make any inferences.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
I've done every single game the LSAC has released (except a couple of the India ones I'll be doing tomorrow), and none of them has taken me as long as that game. If there are other ones that require brute force, they aren't even in the same level of difficulty.dasani13 wrote:Do you guys know any games similar to PT68-G4 (brute force) so I can practice?. Re: December 2013 Retakers
Thank goodness it's a rare game. That's pretty fucked up for the LSAT to do that. If I didn't know games like this existed, I would probably have thought I missed an inference and messed up the entire game. Thanks for the info bee and melodyg.

tyia
50 (riddled basins -- imo the hardest rc passage EVER)
52 (evolutionary game theory -- on the harder side)
55 (chinese talk story -- dont remember this being difficult but its infamous)
59 (noguchi -- dont remember this being difficult but its infamous)
63 (kate chopin, ocean floor geography -- dont remember these being difficult but theyre infamous)
64 (dostoyevsky -- if you suck at art/lit passages, this is a good one to cut your teeth on)
65 (blackmail law, dutch agriculture -- ugh. if you have timing issues w/ rc, these will test you)
memorable lr sections:
56 -- one of my lowest lr scores of all time
69: Dodo Birds is a memorable one (for me at least)

68 G4 was the worst experience I have ever had during a PT. I went into it with so much time and just wasted it trying to make inferences that weren't there.bee wrote:there basically arent any inferences. off the top of my head 61 g4 (at least i think its game 4) is another brute force heavy game, but really, 68 g4 is a unique beast in that there literally isnt anything you can do but bruteforce. there really isnt another game like it to my knowledge... maybe the game about supermarket aisles (34 game 1). but even that one isnt nearly as bad.dasani13 wrote:Do you guys know any games similar to PT68-G4 (brute force) so I can practice?. Congrats to the 179s and 180s!
I got lazy again last night and decided to not study.
Will do PT 67 tonight; it'll be the last one.
I can't think of any game that even remotely compares to 68 G4. If you want to practice just redo it and see how fast you can go. I've done it multiple times and have never been able to finish it under 7:30 mins.

This was actually a pretty good read. It definitely confirms that extreme answers are wrong more times than not and the one right answer won't be like any of the others.
