Yes, Cambridge has (or used to have) Excel spreadsheets that you could download that helps you track drilling. Shoot them an email and see if they still have themproteinshake wrote:is there a way to track drilling questions?

Hello, I am new here. I am currently in NYC on the upper east side. M-F. I am currently seeking a study buddy starting right away for the Sept LSAT. Ideally I want someone who is willing to meet at least 3x a week between 9:30-2:30 and I am open to the weekend. I drive and i have a car so I can drive to most places. If anyone is interested and want to know more please PM here and I will send over my info. Thank you. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

I don't think there is a 1:1 correspondence between the Trainer and the Cambridge packets, but the charts on this page might help you figure out which packets to use: https://www.cambridgelsat.com/resources ... ion-types/proteinshake wrote:okay so i'm a little confused on using the trainer with Cambridge. which Cambridge packet goes with A Piece =/= Puzzle?

Do people find inputting their drilling results into a spreadsheet beneficial? I understand recording PTs and figuring out what to work on in terms of LR, but I'm confused as to how a spreadsheet on drilling would be helpful unless you plan on redoing the same questions again?
What I usually do is this:
1. Do the lesson on 7Sage.
2. Drill with my Cambridge LR packets (1-38).
3. Intensively review the questions I get wrong (i.e. put them in a notebook and write out why each one was incorrect and why the incorrect)
4. Read the questions I got wrong, understand the meanings behind every part from #3, and review the logic in my head when I go to sleep.
But I am not recording which questions I have gotten wrong into a spreadsheet. Should I be doing this?

I'm doing it so I can go back to these questions later in my prep (hopefully when I don't remember the correct answer) and try it again.ngogirl12 wrote:Do people find inputting their drilling results into a spreadsheet beneficial? LSAT Trainer also has a free PDF "notebook" to keep track of problems http://www.thelsattrainer.com/assets/20 ... anizer.pdf

Oh I see, that makes sense. I made a problem set (basically cutting and pasting problems from my PDF set) of MSS questions for later, because I had a lot of trouble with that question type.proteinshake wrote:I'm doing it so I can go back to these questions later in my prep (hopefully when I don't remember the correct answer) and try it again.ngogirl12 wrote:Do people find inputting their drilling results into a spreadsheet beneficial? Oh that's great for LR. Actually, I'm currently going through the earlier lessons from 7Sage and redoing them all before I go to the second half of LR (sufficient/necessary/flaw/parallel reasoning questions). I want to make sure I really understand everything and don't forget anything before I hit the harder LR problems.proteinshake wrote:LSAT Trainer also has a free PDF "notebook" to keep track of problems http://www.thelsattrainer.com/assets/20 ... anizer.pdf
My plan is to hit the Trainer once I get to Flaw questions because I looked through the book and it appears to be heavily focused on flaw in the reasoning logic. I have the 2015 edition, I'm hoping it is just as good as the 2016 one!

Working my way through the Blueprint RC guide this week.
It is too early for me to make a judgement, but I do like that it takes a middle of the road approach between no notation and a very large amount.

went through 3 chapters of the Trainer today. I'm kind of surprised he recommends only doing 1 chapter a day, that seems so minimal...

I got my copy earlier this week. I'm going to go through it after I finish the Manhattan RC book. My goal is to get some RC in Thursday. This week I have been focusing primarily on LR.YupSports wrote:Working my way through the Blueprint RC guide this week.

Will report back! My approach in the past has been to read the passage slowly and then go into the questions, that said, RC is always a hit or miss for me, so I'm hoping the book will reap dividends. *fingers crossed*proteinshake wrote:would love to hear what yall think of it!ngogirl12 wrote:I got my copy earlier this week. Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group
Everyone seems to be doing well. My comprehensive MA final is at the end of August. No time to focus solely on the LSAT.
Only halfway through the LR Cambridge Bible. If I can wrap up the PT 1-38 LR/LG/RC by the end of the month and focus on full PTs from June on, I'll feel better.
There is always December

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group
Mainly a post to commit myself here. Anyone else on the older side of things [5 years out of UG]? It seems that most of you all are fairly young.
Anyone know any good resources for those like me out there? Also, Is the official LSAT superprep worth it? It seems like the LSAT trainer is more popular? Any four month guides that y'all can recommend?
Starting point:
"Cold Diagnostic" [didn't do test taking conditions, but also didn't stress too much while doing it...finished most sections in time though except LR which I probably took longer]
June 07 Test:
Logic Games I 18/23
Logical Reasoning II 24/25 [could have had 25, but I missed my two choice left guess]
Logical Reasoning III 21/25
Reading Comp. IV 25/27
Scores it at 166.
Goal: 172-174+
So far: I bought the Law School Super Prep and two of the LSAC test piles. My guess is I'll have to focus on what composes the 1st and third sections... mainly games. With a time constraint, I probably wouldn't have done much worse there though, as most of the questions I missed were ones I went back to...

I spent some time traveling the country, living in places like Las Vegas and New Orleans, and then coaching a few years of coaching college football.
I think the ultimate key in prep is just finding a system that works for you and drilling until the habits of that system become like second nature to you.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
