I've found the manhattan (atlas) LR guide helpful, so purchased the RC one. Once I get it, will post (in the Feb lsat thread) what i've found most helpful. In general, I like their methodology, it's seems to be a mix of TM and BP's courses (not as hairy as the former and not as lean as the latter). The PS bibles, which everyone seems to be raving about on TLS are useless for anyone who's taken the BP class.

LSAT's RC tests different skills than the SAT's RC, so there is little correlation of success between the two. As far as not reading as much as we used to in school (WE does play a detrimental role, i agree), reading the economist and other RC-like sources won't improve the RC as much as switching the approach to RC (atlas? BP? RC Bible?) and doing a lot of practice passages. That's my plan, at least. I never had a perfect RC section miss 5 on average.

Now I'm getting nervous because I feel so prepared for LGs...just ran through a section before bed and the answers were flying off the page.

have to stay focused and make sure im not slacking on LR.

Lol I would kill to have your problem. I swear, half if not more of my nervousness for the LSAT is worry about a crazy LG game. LG is the one section where a mental lapse of 2 or 3 minutes can result in a full section bomb and consequently, a full test bomb for me.

Just did PT 40.

LR1: -1
Exp LG (PT 30): -3
LG: -0
LR2: -3
RC: -2

Raw: 95
Score: 174

I did the infamous Zephyr Airlines game, but I found it quite easy (though it took me 12 minutes to do). I finished the LG with about 3 min to spare, so I'm very happy about that.

I'm annoyed about the scale of PT 40, since I didn't feel like its LR or RC was particularly easy. However, I'd be thrilled with a 174 on my re-take.

PT55 (Oct. 2008).

LR1 -2
LR2 -1
RC -2
AR -3

171, I'll take it.

have been watching this thread for a while. Signed up for it thinking I would have to re take October, but am happy with my score (and as a result, its always at the top of my view your posts page :) :P )

2 weeks left. Make sure to get enough sleep and stay healthy! Those that are taking the pts in the 50s- I remember when I took those tests, I scored a few points lower ( 5 or so) than my average. The games and RC seemed to shake me up a bit, especially pts 53, 55, and 57. However, on the real thing, I ended up scoring at the high end of my range. Just remember to use your tools and strategies and you will be fine.

Also: If you have taken a lot of tests, you know what you are doing and should have your section strategy firmly set. I would not recommend changing your strategies this close to game day. This sucker is all about confidence. Walk into the testing room knowing you are the most prepared person in there ( TLS is full of overly prepared testers).

From Wednesday December 7th onword stay off TLS. There will be a lot of people who are going to post freakout threads. dont read them- as they have not prepped as effectively as all of you on this thread, and it can ruin your confidence. On your way home from the test decide if you are going to cancel or not ( do your reflecting before you get home- perhaps while you are working on the writing section). You will begin to over think and over analyze each and every section once you get home, and once you go on TLS. You should have your decision made before hand, so you dont worry yourself into canceling a good performance.

Best of luck, You all will dominate the december lsat!

what really pisses me off about LG is how certain types just destroy me. I'm going through the PS LG Workbook and the first individual game is a linear/sequencing game. The setup provided by PS is cool - how they would expect you to diagram/read/understand how to get to that diagram/inference setup in ~3 minutes is beyond me. There is a full 2 pages of setup material involving 5+ hypos and ending with a couple hypo sequencing chains to use on the question.... needless to say after 7 mins of trying to get through the problem I only could answer 2 out of 6.

The next game is described by the workbook as one of the most difficult in the section, yet I got through it in 7 minutes flat -0.

I think I'm gonna take PT 57 or 58 on Wednesday, move back into modern ones and hope I don't remember them. I didn't review what I did wrong on 60 when preparing for October, so that is still pretty much fresh too, so that will be coming soon :)

I have the same problem, which is frustrating beyond belief. The hard games seem like a cake walk, but the easier onse throw me so bad its almost unbelievable. Is it sad I'm going to be upset if the games are too easy?

No point in freaking yourself out about anything. Just go into it knowing you can do anything they throw at you. I think worrying/stressing/nervousness = scoring lower than your PT average. In my case, substantially lower T_T.

I think it more has to do with the environment in which you take the actual LSAT. Before your practice tests do you get finger printed? ID checked? Supplies stored in a zip lock bag? Do you have some person walk around the room you are taking your test in, looking over your shoulder? People frantically looking at their watches, turning pages, coughing/sneezing? All of the above have always made me uncomfortable during tests, standardized or not. The LSAT's extra Nazi policies only exacerbate the anxiety.

The 15 minute break is the worst. Can't text, go on the internet, listen to music, I'm going to go smoke a cigarette in solidarity so no stress-ball comes up telling me how they need a 175 for their dream school and how they panicked on the first two sections.

PT38 today. 177 scaled. 95 raw.

-3 LR1
-0 LG :)
-2 RC :D
-0 LR2 :D

The ones I missed in LR1 were stupid. The two I missed in RC are because I didn't fully understand the main point of one of the passages. It's good to see that my RC has continued to get better and better. 3 PTs left.

I'm not going to lie, seeing all of these -2LR (WTF???) and -3RC (bad day) type comments are seriously inspiring me. I wonder what is must be like to be able to get -1 on LR every time and get pissed off when you get -3. Must feel great. I hope I get there soon. Testing in June and averaging -6 or -7 usually as of now.

1 week ago i was testing at 158. After taking an exam every day for the last 7 days, I am now testing in the mid 160's. The improvement is only inspiring me more and more to keep at it. I'm seeing my mistakes and my mind is moving like never before. At this rate, on test day I'll be at a 170. I mean, right?

PT 61, decided today was a good day to revisit Oct 9. I literally had flashes of when I was in the classroom... I looked at the answers but I never matched them up to the questions. So to me, this was a new test and it did feel like one since I didn't remember most of it and when I did, I didn't know which one was the correct answer anyways.

RC - 7 :|
LR1 - 3
LG - 8       FDSLKFSDLKFDJKLSFSLJSFL
LR2 - 2

81 scaled. Dunno what this converts to since LSAC is not loading my pdfs all of a sudden..

I guess I feel okay about this... both LR's went up compared to test day. RC went down by 2 (shows you my inconsistency...) and LG actually went up by 3 even though it's a shitty score. On test day, I forgot to start my timer and it completely threw me off so that's why I bombed. I have no excuse today though. I missed 4 on the nursing game which makes me believe I made an incorrect inference since I was blazing through that game and was very confident about my answers.

This test is pretty consistent with how I'm doing. LR is now my most consistent section. LG and RC are a hit or miss.

Gonna review this tomorrow at work.

PT 58 - 93 Raw, 172 Scaled
-1 LR
-3 RC
-1 LG
-3 LR

I am really happy with the first LR section which I thought was harder than the last. -3 on RC is right at my average, and I'm hoping for -1 or -2 on test day, but would be content with -3. It has been a very long time since I -0'd LG and it is starting to piss me off. I seriously get -1 every single time obviously for a stupid mistake, and it is simply leaving points on the table that doesn't have to happen. -3 on the last LR is a little disappointing, though one of them I would have missed even if I had all the time in the world.

What kind of sucks is that each of those sections individually I would not be disappointed or surprised with at all, yet together, I'm not happy with the 172. I need to step it up...

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
