They would pretty much without a doubt make you more proficient and reading, writing, analyzing, etc. All of which are helpful for any career, especially a law career. Plus it will teach you about things outside of law, which may help you use your law degree better. It's obviously not necessary, but I wouldn't say they're useless. Perhaps from the perspective of a prospective employer, perhaps, but that's hardly a dispositive measure of usefulness.buckiguy_sucks wrote:cdotson2 wrote:personal growth maybe?yellowyak46 wrote: But also most often 100% interesting.

Then I spent a year working at an underpaying job and had to start paying student loans and realized that all I want to do bust my ass taking the broadest subjects I can in law school and make big law.

Compared to the 160,000 industry standard and future raises and bonuses and perks of big law, which will more than make up for the measly 3,000 a month for 10 years even if you go into major debt 300k+.yellowyak46 wrote:45k is still a lot of groceriesbuckiguy_sucks wrote:LOL at LRAP eligible careers making 60k after tax
Even with that debt chunking out you'd still be making at least 100k+ a year. And by the time the 10 years are up your salary will practically double because of all the raises and bonuses and no longer having to pay off loans anymore, and that's if you don't make an equity partner.
