Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I find that taking the time to read the passage and having a little summary of each paragraph help me tremendously with accuracy with I am more confident with eliminating the wrong answers. I still make one mistake per passage on average but if you're struggling, you should definitely give it a try. I take about 7 minutes for easy to average passages and about 9 to 10 for the harder ones, with probably around 3 to 4 minutes on the passage.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
SLEEP IS VERY IMPORTANT.
As well as nutrition, time of test, etc.
I started a new full time job where I had to travel for training. I wasn't sleeping enough and eating junk food. After getting back from training and taking a practice test my score hit a low of 165. Previously I had been PTing consistently around 172-173 with a record high of 175. Last night, I went to sleep early, caught up on sleep, ate a nutritious breakfast, and scored a 177 today!
I've realized I HAVE to take tests on weekends. Maybe one during the week, and I have to study before work, during lunch break, etc. Studying or testing after working 8 hours, exercising, cleaning, etc is a recipe for disaster.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Every test I take is like a gut-wrenching reality that I'm not going to hit my target score in 3 weeks. All I want is 3-4 lousy extra points. That is all.
I feel like I need to go back to basics. I used to be like really, really good at games, but I just missed 5 on PT 71??
I know everyone says that reviewing PTs is the most important thing, but I got better scores after just drilling. I'm not really buying into the BR hype at the moment, considering I've been BRing for 4 tests now and haven't seen any improvement.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I know, I know. The issue for me is how much I can do. Do I 1) PT as much as possible, 2) BR my PT, or 3) drill? I've been BRing and PTing, but maybe I should assume less PTs and more drilling will be better than more PTs and less drilling.
For PT 71 (the one I just took) I'm not going to Br. Drilling instead. And then I've decided to take two PTs out of my schedule, so I'll only have 6 from here until test day. I need to supplement that time with drilling, though. I just haven't had a chance to do it at all for the past week or two, because all I do is PT and Br.
I really do hope I can improve 3-4 points by game day.

I realize I need to drill more LG, especially grouping games.
While Ive been going -0 for most of the LG sections on my PTs, I went -2 twice on grouping games. I cant let that happen on game day

Finally back and doing timed sections. The upshot is LG and RC seem to be right where I left them. Now to improve.
This is going to be a fun three weeks.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
I am very irritated with PT 72. Got a 166 and missed 6 in the games! Haven't reviewed it yet but hopefully I can fix this by test day. I did go -3 in RC which was nice.
Edit: Also not sure how I feel about all the LR questions I missed being Flaw, Weaken, Str questions. Time to drill like crazy I suppose - tests can wait a bit!

As long as someone is actually fucking studying and not socializing, they're good in my book.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:Confession: I brutally judge people in the library based on their study materials and pencil choice.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
It's a small consolation I know, and all tests are equated to account for slight differences in difficulty, but PT72 is one of the more challenging PTs IMO, and lots of people have trouble with the final game in that one. Don't let one bad one get you down.numb3r4 wrote:I am very irritated with PT 72. Got a 166 and missed 6 in the games! Haven't reviewed it yet but hopefully I can fix this by test day. Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
guys..
-6 seems to be the best I can do on RC! Is my best bet just to continue to do PT's / timed sections + blind review? Literally cannot do better than -6 on a PT.

Did the Feb 1997 LSAT today
went -4 in every section and still wound up with a 170. Gotta love that -14 curve wouldn't mind that in 3 weeks
The third game was weird and somehow I missed -2 on both of the first two games.

Thanks to the LSAT I'm in the best shape of my life! (I procrastinate by running and going to the gym.)

I believe that stamina is an issue because I am wildly inconsistent on section scores, but I almost always do well on my last section of a 5-section test. I am puzzled.

Then the issue isn't stamina, but warming up.southerntexan wrote:I believe that stamina is an issue because I am wildly inconsistent on section scores, but I almost always do well on my last section of a 5-section test. I am puzzled.
