Have you not taken anything above 61? Comparatives start in the low 50s.WorldsCollide wrote:Just figured out that the last practice test I'll be taking will be 61. Will I get to see any of the new comparative readings? If not, will I be at a disadvantage?

Would y'all include PT 61 in the 60s difficulty for RC or just the 62-71? I went -4 and while not ideal, wasn't completely outraged/seemed about right given the rushing I did.

Also, how's everyone spending the final week and a half? I ordered PT 61-71 but not sure if I'll get through them all since I am now not taking tests during the week when I am tired. I'm thinking I might start 71 and down once I get the book, does that sound like a reasonable idea?

Yeah!
I just got manhattan RC book. It's super short so I'm hoping to bang it out in the next week and intermittently drill LR and go over my small LG mistakes. Then I'll take my last PT like Thursday before the real deal. Maybe light drilling and obvi reviewing from
Thursday-Monday.

Leigh,
I like your daily user image change
Haha anyways, I find that the newer RC is different, but not necessarily harder. They are getting trickier with writing tempting wrong answer choices and hiding the right answers. Its something that just takes practice and repetition to really get used to.

You feel confident walking into the test without finishing up PT 61-71?berkeleynick wrote:Also, how's everyone spending the final week and a half? IDK about you guys but I think I will be going to bed immediately following the test.
I also recommend the bar, if thats your thing.
Absolutely no rehashing the test.

how do you approach the new passages? i feel as though its tougher for me because I am approaching them the wrong way.Clyde Frog wrote:I think the earlier are tougher. Don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning the validity of your guys' observation. I'm more curious

Re: The Official June 2014 Study Group
So from about PT 51 on, I've been taking a PT everyday, under full timed conditions and so forth. Until 2 days ago, when I got to test 61, I was testing really well and feeling great about everything. But the last few, my average score has dropped 5-6 points. RC and LG are suddenly causing me a lot of problems. I was missing 0-2 questions per RC section, now it's around 3-5. Same story with the LG sections. Through the 50's I never missed a comparative reading question, but in the past 2 tests I've missed 2 questions in each of comparative readings.
Am I crazy, or have the recent RC and LG sections been more difficult?
Not feeling so confident anymore.

No. I've done 19-28. If I don't buy 62-71, then I'll do 29-38 and 52-61rebexness wrote:Have you not taken anything above 61? I'm basically doing two PTs a day from now until June 7th =O.

I approach the comparative reading in the same way as the regular passages (summarize with one line after each paragraph, bracket key opinions ect.), but after reading the first passage really focus on keeping the first passage in your head and marking off similarities and differences as you move through the second passage. After reading the second passage quickly skim through both passages to keep them both in your head, since you may have forgotten much about the first passage after going through the second.jimmymac wrote:how do you approach the new passages? i feel as though its tougher for me because I am approaching them the wrong way.Clyde Frog wrote:I think the earlier are tougher. For example, using this method can help you avoid trick questions like #15 from PT 62. If you marked a similarity between the first paragraphs of both passages you can easily find the right answer which is actually answered less often than another answer choice.

What would you consider your greatest LSAT weaknesses going into the June exam?
I'll go first
1) Strengthen/Weaken Questions
2) Handful of really Odd/Open Games
3) Some Principle Justify Questions
4) Finishing Reading Comp with anything more than 1 minute to go. (Not a weakness but it'd be nice to have an extra 2 or 3 minutes to collect yourself for the next section assuming you don't get RC before the break).

Re: The Official June 2014 Study Group
I'd also like to hear any details you guys have about how RC got harder in the 60s. I just did PT60 about 30 minutes ago and actually ended up with my best score so far (and my first -0 on games). I'm doing PT61 tomorrow, and I have 7 PTs from 71 to the mid 60s being delivered friday. I'll probably go through those one per day right up to the test. I'm really hoping my scores don't fall (they're already pretty inconsistent), but repeatedly hearing about how the section gets more difficult has me scared =/
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
