Re: October 2010 Test Prep
On my break of Pt 54. Not feeling great about this one. Pretty sure I -0'd the LG, but I expect that, the RC was unusually difficult and I don't think the LR was any easier to compensate. Plus only a -10 curve, so we will see :p

I thought I had it bad with reporting all my PTs. You... you've got it bad....2014 wrote:On my break of Pt 54. Not feeling great about this one. It's not like I assume anyone cares haha, I just feel like reporting them here keeps me accountable. If no one reads it, I would not be concerned at all

Yeah. Same here. Accountability and Solidarity. Sorry if I came off as suggesting it was about attention.2014 wrote:...keeps me accountable....

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
I'm glad to see people are trying to get those last minute PT's, just like me.
That being said I have roughly PT 1-48, plus 3-4 of the 2009/2010's.
Anything in particular to look at from the 1991-2005ish days? Any games sections or RC sections that are worthy of another glance or through review? (In relation to what I may see in one week)

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
Ok results from Pt 54:
-4 RC - screw that section
-1 LR - Good
-1 LG - Stupid
-4 LR - I missed 4 in a row...I'm going to hope it was due to fatigue at that point, because that is inexcusable
91 Raw, 170 scaled
10 in a row 170+ now, but very rarely outside of the low 170's.
Hopefully tomorrow's goes better... but all in all a 170 isn't too bad.

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
how many tests do you all use to determine your average lsat score ( and where you will most likely fall on test day)? Last 10 full length tests? Do you use them all? The reason I''m asking is that right now, im sitting on a 17point improvement over my initial diagnostic, ( yup im proud) and i would like to be able to determine where my score should fall.

I think it would be reasonable to take the last several, but always be mindful of your overall range too.northwood wrote:how many tests do you all use to determine your average lsat score ( and where you will most likely fall on test day)? On my score spreadsheet I have an overall average as well as an average for the last 5 PTs just to see what my more recent scores are looking like. I would be seriously pissed if I scored outside of my last 10 PT range though.
And Jfb I scored at the low end of my range on 57 and had a particularly tough time with the LG because of time, but that was Dinos right?

missed 1 on LG, usually 0. so it wasnt the dinosaur game that screwed me..i dunno
its discouraging.

Staying in tonight since Im getting up early tomorrow to PT. Peeplez, keepz me company?
I'm trying to work on an essay that's due 10 days after the LSAT... not going so well. All I want to work on is LSAT (or Latin), otherwise I'm just not interested.
kinda glad other ppl thouht PT57 was bad..

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
Ok, so I had intentions of doing a practice run involving waking up early, eating + coffee, driving to my testing center and coming home and taking a full PT.
I had trouble getting to bed last night and took ONE benadryl (the typical dosage is two) and woke up two hours late this morning.
List of things I am doing next Friday night:
Taking a benadryl after 10PM
Taking a benadryl at like 8PM

1 week away!
slightly nervous, but not too bad since I'm retaking.
Last 3 practice tests were 168, 178, 180, so here's to hoping real test day is like PT 52 or 53 and not PT 59

Bout to take 51 or 52, one of which will be sacked for experimentals.
I'd like to take the harder one in full. Any votes on which that'd be?

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
Took Sept 2009 today. Did way better than I did when I actually took this test last year. 160. Not too happy about that though since I made a lot of stupid mistakes on LR 1. The potential to get at least 5 more correct was there... Really pissed at myself.
In any case, LG's seems to be clicking with me. Going over my score report on LSAC.org, I saw I only got 13 correct on LG's last year. 20 correct this time around. Thats a nice improvement.
Nevertheless, the next two, and final, PT's are very important. Have to keep working, but I have no choice but to take off until Tuesday. I simply dont have enough PT's left to do. Ill do some drilling of old sections, redo some old LG's and do whatever else I can.
Woke up early, felt like crap, but managed to get into a groove while testing.
Good luck this weekend everyone!

On my Pt60 break. I looooved Stone and Mulch. Took me 5 minutes. So simple (assuming I didn't miss something huge and miss them all).

You fucker!!! No spoilers!!! I keep reading about this mulch game. I want to know as little about it as I can. I seriously have to prescreen every word of every post to make sure there arent any PT spoilers... Ugh.

I got a 179 on #59... it would be nice to get a 180 on #60 for the maximum confidence boost before going in to #61. I haven't got a 180 for a while, but I have come close.
How difficult is #60 compared to the past several tests before it?

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
Just got home from the Kaplan event. It definitely served its purpose. The staff members were talking VERY loudly outside the room, some test takers were eating/texting, and the kid in front of me actually fell asleep during section III. I was able to completely shut all of it out though! Anything that could go wrong on test day did go wrong today, so I got a real boost of confidence.
Also, I had no problems bringing my own PT to the event. I did get some weird looks from the people around me, but whatever. They were all unprepared scrubs anyway.
PT 58 -
92/101 = 171 scaled
XP, -1
I LR, -1
II RC, -4
III LG, -3 (awful by my standards)
IV LR, -1

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
Waited a week to take a full PT after I scored a 176 on PT 60.
Today: PT 59 -missed 14. 170.
edit: missed 13, misbubbled 1. too bad its still a 170
That was TOUGH.
And I remembered some of it too...
On the brighter side, PT 43 which I've been using as experimental is looking great at 3 sections down and a 178 so far.
PT 58 in a few days. Until then lots of LG and RC drilling in the 50s. Based on todays score, it looks like I'll want to drill some LR in the 50s too.

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
1 weird LG. I missed none on RC but I think somehow having seen the passages before helped me not be thrown off by anything. I think overall the RC has 2-3 questions that could suck up time. Normal LR - easier than 59.Adjudicator wrote:I got a 179 on #59... it would be nice to get a 180 on #60 for the maximum confidence boost before going in to #61. Re: October 2010 Test Prep
So, I'm at my testing center, rio hondo, and it seems pretty nice. I spoke to a lady who is organinzing it all and she was very helpful. They're expecting about 220 people for the LSAT. Lame thing is they're also testing sat that day so thy expect about 600 people total at the school. Seems like thy have a lot of room though

Re: October 2010 Test Prep
Yes... They let me take PT 60 at the Kaplan event and I got a 175 scaled, my highest PT yet.
LR -0, -2
LG -3
CR -1
Doing this with the full 5 sections, never seeing a question from that test before, proctoring, people talking and making noise in the hallway (I was dumb enough to get a seat by the door which I will make sure NOT to do on Saturday if I can help it), at the place I'll be taking it, etc, has given me a big confidence boost going into Saturday. Have to keep drilling strong this final week, though, and I was actually mad I missed a question in Stone/Mulch because I zoomed through that game in 5 minutes and made a stupid error. Still looking to improve, ha
