1. It never got bad.

2. Stop using diversionary tactics from PWing.

I loved it in the beginning (I think everyone did), but it started getting bad when they spent like 5 episodes looking for the little girl in the woods and then spent fucking forever at that farm doing nothing. But then at least there was the drama between Rick and the other cop who got with his wife. After that it got really shitty until the governor appeared. He was a cool character and the obvious comparison/contrast between him and Rick made the show slightly interesting again. After that though it rapidly became unwatchable.

The problem is that the show doesn't have much of a plot (which is why there are these interminable periods of stagnation) and they have no way to make up for that.

On many shows, you would still watch for the character dynamics, but at this point the recurring characters are so annoying that my only interest in them is my hope that they die painful deaths as punishment for all the shitty episodes I sat through.

For a long time the zombies and fighting were able to redeem the show and distract from its hopeless superficiality, but now even destroying high-budget zombies in graphic and creative ways has become boring.

It was a great show at the start, but there's only so much you can do with the "Rick and some boring people wander around and fight walkers" formula.
