How secure do you think they keep the new tests, I say we get a group, g to PA and steal it so we all get 180's. I keep thinking how sick it would be to get my hands on the test early and then just smoke it on the 9th.

What are the chances I could pull off a 170+ on test day? Right now im missing 4/5 on RC so if I can get that down I want to say I have a *shot*

I'd say if you hone your RC in the next PTs, it's realistic that with adrenaline and enough focus you'd pull a 170. Easy. That's assuming you're a great test taker. I usually walk into exams thinking I'm going to knock it out of the park if I've prepared enough. I think six months is prepared enough. There is nothing more I can do other than follow my own advice learned from mistakes and ensure that they stick in the next four PTs.

I wish the lsat would tell us the ballpark as to what our raw score is before we leave the test center on the 9th.. that way we know if we are to drink to cheers or tears saturday night

Unlikely considering you aren't scoring 170 at all right now. But of course it is possible. RC is almost always the difference maker for me as well and I'm hoping for an adrenaline boost.

I'm usually a good test taker. I think having already taken an LSAT adminstration will help me a lot, hopefully adrenaline will help me get through RC a little faster and not have only 5 mins left for the last passage, as well as continue my LR beast mode of late. LG's probably going to be luck of the draw, but I think I should be a lot faster on test day. Whether this translates into 1 or 2 more questions right we will see.

Ya, it really just comes down to test day. I am around the same range as you and RC is singlehandedly holding me back from the 170s. I'm a great test taker though, but I don't buy into the adrenaline giving you a boost at all. On the contrary, the difference between a good test taker and a bad one is that you don't let the mood or environment affect you. You need to be a robot and be exactly how you are on a PT. That being said, adrenaline could potentially give you super-pt strength and you somehow pull it off.

I'd prefer an easy test with a brutal curve than a difficult test with a generous curve.

I feel that, after a certain difficulty level, the harder a test gets, the less noticeable the difference between someone who's well-prepared and someone who's not, with the theoretical maximum being everyone guessing on every question. For example, a ridiculously difficult Logic Game that requires a creative diagram would render hard studiers closer to performance with less-practiced test takers than they would be if all the games were standard.

I want back the days when the only questions you had to answer for yourself when reading were "What is(/are) the main idea(/s)?" and "What is(/are) the author's purpose(/s) in writing this?".

I can't help but think that, while LR may be useful, & the LG fun, the skill set of answering the sorts of questions that are asked on the RC is going to be discarded after October 9th... and hopefully not re-hashed after Halloween 'till December.

I haven't even taken the test, and all I want is my results.

I can see how the three weeks after the test might be more irritating than the three weeks before it.

Pretty consistent and right about what I can expect to be my maximum score on test day given a -10/-11 curve. Hopefully on the day of I don't miss any on LG which are always stupid mistakes, and maybe they will give me an RC set that fits. I have yet to get -0 or even -1 on RC, only gotten -2 twice in 16 PTs, so yeah not expecting much.


Of particular concern here though was that I had a crap load of misbubbles. Part of that is obviously taking a practice test at 10 pm, but it is unacceptable. While I didn't count it against myself at this point, I realize I am going to have to be more careful and penalize myself on the last few PTs I take before the day of.

Overall very pleased though! -7 is my best effort yet.

The first time it will - you will check even though you know there is 0 chance of your score being out. I think my level of anxiety/checking will determine how well I think I did on the test...

Oh I'm also on board with the high curve. Honestly fundamentally all of my mistakes are careless errors where I go back and understand perfectly well why the correct answer was correct. In some cases I still like the answer I chose, but in the majority of them, it comes down to I misread.

Since I believe I will misread roughly the same amount of questions regardless of difficulty, might as well have a good sized curve to help balance it out a bit :p

Plus on PTs I have not noticed -10 tests being any easier than -12 or -14s. I always end up 2-3 points higher on the "harder" tests because of the curve.

I would like another curve like PT59, please. I was 1 point away from a 180, even after missing 3 in RC! Too bad I always miss 1 in LG.

seriously!

i can't tell the difference between a hard test and an easy one. all a "harder" test does for me is allow me to score a few points higher.

i hope the test, especially the logic games, are brutal.

i take it back that the older LR were easier than the newer ones.

got -6 (PT59) and -4 (PT52) last 2 PT's i took. so the LR in the 50's are easier...or i'm just improving? i can't tell anymore.
