Re: The Official September 2014 Study Group
I decided to finally get on this study group as I am realizing I may be more behind than I previously thought. I am currently taking the Blueprint Movie online course and it has helped but (for me personally at least) I don't feel that it, alone, will be enough push into the 170s in time for the September exam. This is my first time taking it and besides the course I have recently starting using the Powerscore LR Bible to supplement the course's material. For drilling I've read that many of ya'll have used the Cambridge packets. Have ya'll bought full sets? My weakest spot is still Logic Games, primarily because I haven't done enough problems/practice. Is it worth getting only the Logic Game set (PrepTests 1-38) alone or just buy the whole set? What sets/packages would ya'll recommend?
After reading all of ya'lls points I do not believe I'm remotely close to being prepared for this test and I am debating on just taking it in December.
Any advice? Thanks ya'll!

I got a job as a librarian at a middle school. It's very conducive to studying, all the time.smccgrey wrote:Conference call? TLS.

I tried bringing my LG book to work once, but it was too obvious. I have a very open concept office and no one has any papers or books on their desks, so it's highly conspicuous.

Yes, definitely recommend buying the LG set. I'm currently working through those and gaining confidence.sza123 wrote:I decided to finally get on this study group as I am realizing I may be more behind than I previously thought. What's a good frequency of LGs to maintain the mindset over the next month? I've got the fundamentals down (-0 to -2 on most PTs) and want to focus on LR and RC, but I need to stay consistent in LG drilling so I don't repeat last weekend's PTs (-3/-4). I don't want to keep burning through my LGs and I don't want to waste time I could spend drilling LR or RC. 1 LG per day? 2 LGs per day? 3 LGs per day?

Honestly, I don't even study LG anymore. My PT's are my studying for LG. I only drill LR and RC, really. It works good enough for me

Even on two-month old games I remember the setup and at least half the inferences, which ruins the drilling for me. I guess the solution is just buy more LG packets from Cambridge.hereisonehand wrote:Just redo sections you've done already. I found I didn't remember all that much from most of 'em. Even if you do, and they're really easy the second time, doing this will probably help to keep yourself in the zone.HRomanus wrote:What's a good frequency of LGs to maintain the mindset over the next month? Haha how often do you PT? I'm only 1-2 per week and I seem to do okay. If I ever take a break from PTing (did this about 2 weeks ago) then I get really flustered.

This happened to both of us! I'm definitely going to start doing a LG, a RC passage, and 5 LR questions before a PT to get myself in the mindset regardless my drilling schedule.smccgrey wrote:I thought I could get away with this... nope. Re: The Official September 2014 Study Group
Speaking of TLS-ing at work, here's a question I wanna get out there before my lunch break:
How do ya'll approach could be true / could be false questions? In theory I want to be using process of elimination for these. But there are times when I am going through the answers and I see one and say "oh yeah that could be true / is not necessarily true". When I get to these answers I feel torn, should I just circle it and move on, or continue checking through the answers?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
