Slowing down definitely boosted my accuracy on my principle apply drills today. 6/8 on L4, two stupid mistakes misreading ACs. Small sample size so not sure how the trend looks yet, but it's promising.

Wait. I thought you scored well in February. Am I making that up?TheProdigal wrote:3hr/workday, maybe 5 or 6 on my days off.ccordero wrote:how much studying does everyone do per day?
If I start earlier for June, maybe 60 to 90 minutes daily until the last month.

Slowing down meaning, taking infinite time to solve one? Or slowing down meaning still doing it under 2 minutes, but reading slower?TheWalkingDebt wrote:Slowing down definitely boosted my accuracy on my principle apply drills today. 6/8 on L4, two stupid mistakes misreading ACs. Not infinite time. Didn't time myself. If I had to venture a guess, most were 2 minutes or less with the occasional over 2 but not by very much. But I have no idea. I guess slower in the sense of being more diligent when I read and processing things better. Saying the conclusion and evidence to myself before moving to ACs to get the process down better.Shakawkaw wrote:Slowing down meaning, taking infinite time to solve one? For the harder L4 ones I would get it down to 2 or 3 somewhat quickly and then reason them out individually compared to the task. I'm also just starting to embrace diagramming conditional logic for more complicated LR stim (or, at minimum, thinking about it more clearly in my head).

Scored very well for myself, tied my highest PT (170). But 99th percentile was my cutoff for outright not retaking. Going to wait and see for a month or two as my apps get processed, then decide.Dirigo wrote:Wait. I thought you scored well in February. Good for you! I'm sure 170 will garner some good options, but not closing the door on a retake is commendable.TheProdigal wrote:Scored very well for myself, tied my highest PT (170). Anyone else considering taking a standardized test other than the LSAT? I looked up the GRE today and apparently you can schedule it for almost any day you want. I wish I could take the LSAT any day I wanted to, it would make scheduling so much easier.

I'm not. It's either law school or not continuing education for me.JackelJ wrote:Anyone else considering taking a standardized test other than the LSAT? I took it a few years ago. It was a great experience, despite the industrial construction (we're talking water-cooled concrete cutting) on the floor above us. They gave us noise cancelling headphones. Start time selection, nearly any day you want, computer-based so the writing is really just typing, get your score right then and there (except for the writing, which they score later).JackelJ wrote:Anyone else considering taking a standardized test other than the LSAT? Biggest issue I had with it, prepping vs. taking, is the annoyance of going back and forth from scratch paper to screen for math problems.
Its really nothing more than the SAT v2.0. I honestly think I would have scored better in high school than now. Stupid probability questions.
Bit of a brutal curve on the math section though.

Re: The Official June 2015 Study Group
It's looking pretty likely I'll push law school off yet another year if I land this job. The nature of it won't allow me to study for the LSAT until late fall so I would miss the June and October admins and wouldn't have enough time to study for December. I'll ask some pointed questions about scheduling to feel out if it would even be doable.
Not upset about it. Law school isn't going anywhere and I'd rather fully commit myself to this job and milk it for all it's worth than have to worry about prepping.

Took it before grad school. Ended up in the ER later that night from a bacterial infection. Was running a 102 fever when I took it, this was the day after my last day of finals on my last semester. I basically was on the verge of dying my entire last week of finals with like 2 50 page papers and a bunch of final exams.JackelJ wrote:Anyone else considering taking a standardized test other than the LSAT? On the verge of dying not being an exaggeration. Dr told me if I had waited much longer bacteria would have gotten in my bloodstream and I'd likely have died very quickly.

Good luck tomorrow Rigo!!
You're right, law school isn't going anywhere and the scores are good for 5 years, so take it when you think you'll do best. I'll be a little sad about not attending ASW with you though
I guess the bar crawl will have to be a different time
