50s, yes. 40s, no; actually forgot. I have 45 46 and 47 all fresh that I could buy. I didn't want to take them as fresh tests because the LR performances generally destroy my confidence on the 40s, but I ended up re-drilling some LR sections anyway.bee wrote:have you finished all the rc from the 40s and 50s?Otunga wrote:Not sure what's going on, but I went down 2 points on a retake of 51 today, and I appear to be declining in LR, once again getting -6 or worse.
169 (171)
LR -6 (-4)
LG -0 (-3)
RC -6 (-3)
SP C LR1 -3
I'm very discouraged and frustrated. I know I've only done some light drilling of RC since Oct, but I shouldn't be hitting -6, particularly since that's 3 points WORSE than my original take of the section. What the fuck?
When it comes down to it, I'd take -6 LR on test day since that's still 3 better than the Oct take. But I need to be doing as I was with RC (-3 average and on an upward trend) to feel more comfortable going in. The problem is I've seen all the most recent sections more than twice, so I explicitly recall much of the content and it's just nothing like a real section. I might have to buy some ancient sections just for practice.
I ate exactly what I would on test day (oatmeal and synchro) and did it about an hour and 15 minutes before I started the test, to be a bit realistic.

Overall, save a section or 2, i haven't noticed much of a difference between the latest LRs and the older ones. I'm being relatively consistent in general on those sections (-10 to -5 range combined), it's the RCs that are now baffling me. I'm thinking something must have gotten away from me on RCs, that I'm neglecting something I did before...I'm going to drill extensively after my PT review tonight and then tomorrow will take PT 60 again (my diagnostic). I was calm last night but i'm a bit more rattled right now....dosto wrote:Never crossed my mind to re-retake 70, but I might just do that. eta retook 69 this morning and all these new LG inferences jumped out at me this time around. Funny how that works.

I've gone -3,-10,-5,-10. Idk. Typically the -10 is often skeweed (one section goes fantastic the other goes awful). The Games stay consistent, but the RC is jut trending super downward. Idk. I'm like not too happy about anything right now. If i broke that LR scoring down further between 2 sections, its really only 2 sections out of 8 that are skewing the difference.

if it helps, i retook 67... and gained 1 point. that was it. even though i knew about all the curveballs ahead of time and still didnt really improve. 67 is an awful, awful pt. that -10 curve may be the most unfair curve ever.
It was strange to me because I didn't feel like it was that overwhelming. RC didn't feel as tough as usual but, as usual, it was my worst section. The section I thought was the toughest ended up being my best (LR2).
I'm just hoping 68 is nicer to me as it is my last fresh test. I'll probably take it Thursday, I wanted to throw a retake in on Tuesday.

PT61 Retake
LR1: -0 / LR2: -0 / LG: -0 / RC: -2 / PT11 RC as Exp: -2
99/101, 180.
I feel like I've maxed out my studying material. I've done PTs 40-70 and retook every single test that I got 170 or less on previously. What do you guys (and gals) suggest I do next? I can buy pre-40 PTs, retake tests I've gotten 170+ on, or just drill I guess.

Bros, I went from avging −3 to −5 total LR wrong to getting −9 on 70. Was it me or was it 70? And any suggestions on how to get my game back?

60s LR is poetic in a sense due to how clean the arguments are. Some of the 40s LR is more open to interpretation, or at least that's the impression I get from them.bee wrote:-10 to -5 is a HUGE range O__O i could go up to -8 combined on 40s lr but very rarely exceed -3/-2 combined on 60s lr. to me there is a huge, noticeable difference between 40s and 60svicpin5190 wrote:Overall, save a section or 2, i haven't noticed much of a difference between the latest LRs and the older ones. While I've been struggling with LR between 40-52, I have to say that I did improve on retakes of 69 and 70, and I thought 66-68 to be fairly easy, and that lends me some confidence for the section that I need.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
PT 66 (retake from a little over two months ago)
Score: 176
RC: -1
LR: -2
LG: -0
LR: -2
RC seemed easier than usual. The questions were very straightforward with wrong answer choices sticking out pretty, uncharacteristically, blatantly. (Although this might be because I saw this test before and my eyes were a little trained.) LG was so weird. I felt the first and second games were harder, in that they took more time to do, than the last two games. Was a little unnerved when I saw I only had 14 minutes to do last two games.
I got number two on the second LR wrong and spent like 5 minutes on it too. So sad. Can anyone provide an explanation for it and instruct me on how to do it quickly and effectively?

Re: December 2013 Retakers
For me, the issue on 70 was wasting (notice, I didn't write spending) too much time deliberating on the tougher questions and there were only two or three total on both sections combined. I think 70's LR required people like us, who aren't LR slouches but no LR masters either, to really have mental discipline and manage our time wisely, especially in that second section. Also, the stimuli were very wordy and this only exacerbated time pressures. So, if this applies to you, I'd suggest just consciously not going through a problem more than two times unless you've finished everything else and still have time left over.OVOXO wrote:Bros, I went from avging −3 to −5 total LR wrong to getting −9 on 70. Re: December 2013 Retakers
I just went through 70 on my review. First section, of the 3 i missed, 2 were complete wiffs and very duh moments. ON the 2nd LR, there were 5 (of the 7) i missed that I narrowed it down to the right choices and fell through a hole. I agree about the post above and mental discipline though, LR#2 especially. RC was a mess, it's pretty evident I got away from reading for the arguments though, so that's good to know.
Anywhoo, time to do some drillin of RC. I'm going to take PT 60 tomorrow I think, and maybe even throw in June 2007 for good measure.

Is anyone taking a pt on Thursday or just light review?
Whats the credited approach for the last two days?
Also pre-lsat on test day, anyone exercising or walking or anything like that to get the blood pumped?

Games are the best kind of sex.dosto wrote:How are you all feeling regarding your problem areas you wanted to work on after October? I'd request this to be put in poll form, but our benevolent leader has left us.
I've trimmed RC errors down to -1 on recent PTs thankfully. LR I was getting max -3 total on PTs before Oct; that didn't prevent a -9, and considering we'll probably get something similar, all I can tell myself is to pay more attention to nuances and not eliminate answers so quickly. Actually I have no idea how LR will work out. Games are sex, but I will obviously be very relieved if we get a standard section.
I don't think I haven't looked forward to doing a games section yet in my PTing. I'm seeing that for me LR is clearly trust my 2nd instinct over my first. I had to prominent moments during my PT today where I realized I was about to make a mistake and patted myself on the back for it. I need more of those moments next Saturday.
