BUMP

Also, when you start to evangelize for the LSAT. "No, really, it's an awesome test! Let me show you some logic games!"

Wow. I actually did this 3 weeks ago when my friend came over. he just stared at me like wtf ...

LOL I started evangelizing the LSAT by showing people problems -___-;;

Otherwise, for me it's just every time I hear quantifiers, I subconsciously think of the logical ladder. So whenever someone says, "I have some of the Harry Potter books" I think "Hmm, he has at least 1 or even all of them."

you start using conditional reasoning while reading facebook status updates.

Status Update: "LOL Mark got beat by a girl! He sucks at Call of Duty!"

My Mind: "Mark does not suck at call of duty because a girl did not beat him."

You read all 11 pages of this thread in a fit of nostalgia two months after having already finished the LSAT for the lsat last time.

An inscription on my undergraduate university's wall reads:

Wisdom is the principle thing. Therefore, get wisdom.

I immediately think, there is an unstated assumption that people should get principle things.

You incite political debates at work, then sit back and make note of all assumptions, mistaken negations, and mistaken reversals as the chaos ensues. Then you buy everyone involved lunch to mend injuries resulting from ad hominems.

I don't think so. It's saying "Mark sucks at Call of Duty because he got beat by a girl".

Beat by a girl -> Sucks at CoD
~Sucks at CoD -> ~Beat by a girl

So we see that saying "Mark does not suck at CoD because a girl did not beat him" (~Beat by a girl -> ~Sucks at CoD) is actually a mistaken negation (mistaken reversal? I don't remember the term).

1) LOL Mark got beat by a girl! He sucks at Call of Duty!"

which one of the following is an assumption required by the argument?

a) Mark normally plays on Xbox 360
b) All girls suck at video games
c) If Mark got beat by a girl, he sucks at Call of Duty.
d) The girl that beat Mark consistently performs well in CoD tournaments
e) If Mark sucks at Call of Duty, he gets beat by a girl
