Re: December 2013 Retakers
Breakdown PT70.
S1 LR (-4)
S2 RC (-3)
S4 LG (-0)
S5 LR (-8)!!!
So bummed that the last section killed me. But that's what happens on the last leg when you didn't sleep at all the night before and you thought you bombed the theaters game.
Time to make it happen.

Kaplan 180 was once a popular study aid on here amongst some of the 175+ scorers. Not sure how well it maps onto modern tests (I think the newest edition is from 2002), but why not pick a used copy up off Amazon for <$5. If you do, let us know what you think.alecks wrote:In regards to fresh materials- I found this article interesting / might try that Kaplan book.

So many October people here... I've decided to cut myself off from tls for october. It didn't turn out so well. So this time I'm going to make this thread my home. We should all make a PT schedule so we can form a group and do group reviews. I need that 170+!!!

Seeing these people get in at my #1 choice makes me feel good a bit.
my #1 choice took a handful of splitters last year according to LSN w/ the following numbers (all non-URM):
3.2/168 (Tx resident, $28,500 scholly, K-JD)
3.14/169 (Tx resident, $9,000 scholly, out of UG 1-2 yrs)
3.1/169 (non Tx resident, no scholly, out of UG 3-4 yrs)
2.9/174 (non Tx resident, no scholly, out of UG 3-4 yrs)
2.79/177 (non Tx resident, $7000 scholly, out of UG 3-4 yrs)
2.67/169 (non Tx resident, no scholly, military)

Re: December 2013 Retakers
Two boiled eggs and a protein bar. I'm more concerned about trying to maintain stamina, and I think my diet here played a role. I've done 5 section preptests before and never felt that kind of tired. I also didn't get a full 8 hours. I really wish the LSATs were always administered at 12, as in June.dosto5 wrote:What did you eat before? I don't think break nutrition should be so instrumental in your retake plans. Maybe do more 5 or 6 section PTs to get your stamina up? I didn't eat during the break so I'm really not the right person to be answering this question.Theopliske8711 wrote:I lost 8 points on the last section of the test, LR, and I attribute a lot of that to heavy fatigue (I felt out of it on the fourth section, which was the game, which I managed to do perfectly on). Any good dietary recommendations for the break? I'm really thinking of bringing some kind of small espresso shot for the break. It sucks that I felt so damn fatigued.

Are you going for UT? If so, me too! My GPA is really really low, though, so I'm hoping that my TX residency will give me a tiny boost and not getting my hopes up too much at the same timetofuspeedstar wrote:Seeing these people get in at my #1 choice makes me feel good a bit.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
I actually bought the 2008 version of the Kaplan LSAT 180 book since I was worried about (1) running out of prep material and (2) not getting enough practice on difficult questions. Haven't looked through it yet, but I was planning on going through the questions later on in my prep. It is hard to find, but I got lucky and was able to buy a completely unmarked "used" copy.alecks wrote:In regards to fresh materials- I found this article interesting / might try that Kaplan book.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
Can't be lower than mine. But, mine came out of factors that were out of my control. UG GPA doesn't show my full academic capability. I was t10% in HS (not like that matters, but, it shows that I have potential I guess)cheme2014 wrote:Are you going for UT? If so, me too! What's everyone doing tonight that's kicking off their studying?
I'm going to read the 5 free chapters of the LSAT Trainer and take an RC section at minimum.

Probably nada for a couple of days, I'm going to finish up all the other areas of my app. Then get back into the nitty-gritty of the LSAT.snagglepuss wrote:What's everyone doing tonight that's kicking off their studying?

Re: December 2013 Retakers
I got the ACE LG book since I'm out of fresh LG sections (other than the one I'm saving for full timed PTs) and went through most of that this morning. I'll ration out their practice sections for the next few weeks. For the rest of the day, I'm doing a couple of timed RC sections and then going through a few chapters of the LSAT Trainer. Hopefully I can keep up my productivity haha.snagglepuss wrote:What's everyone doing tonight that's kicking off their studying?

I've been throwing around the idea of doing a PT. I might do this too since get immersed in studying heavily seems key on a sub-40 day retake.dosto5 wrote:PT54.snagglepuss wrote:What's everyone doing tonight that's kicking off their studying?

My Trainer should arrive tomorrow. I'll probably finish going over everything I got wrong on October. I couldn't sleep that well last night due to being upset about my score so I think I'll rest tonight and jump back into it tomorrow!

Re: December 2013 Retakers
LR heavily. I've broken down and reviewed my wrong October '13 LR questions and have identified patterns. This week is all about reading and focusing on these areas from the LT and also starting the RC chapters. Drilling will start next week, and full PTs from November 18th. I have identified my weak areas and will focus on that. Not touching games until full PTs.snagglepuss wrote:What's everyone doing tonight that's kicking off their studying?

Would ideally like to sit 5 to 10 PTs before December 7th, but unlike my October take, I will try to avoid burn out.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
