Yeah, they are. But are they #2?! Can these be used on the exam?mephistopheles wrote:A → B ⊨ ¬B → ¬A wrote:

I was told they aren't. A poster who responded a few posts back says it doesn't matter.ManoftheHour wrote:Yeah, they are. But are they #2?! Can these be used on the exam?mephistopheles wrote:A → B ⊨ ¬B → ¬A wrote:

For the most important exam of my life, I'm not going to chance it. Thanks for your response.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:I was told they aren't. I don't think I'm going to chance it.
ETA: I sent an email to Palomino (contact form on their website) asking if any of their pencils are #2, and that I'm looking for a pencil to use on a standardized test. I'll post if they respond.

I like the Ticon blacks, but I'm keeping my eyes open for anything better before May. I'll need about a month and at least 10 PTs before I'm comfortable with a new pencil to use on game day.tuffyjohnson wrote:ok, you guys are now at 11 pages on what pencil to use. Congrats.
What do you do with the shavings?mlansky wrote:Once I went Ticon black, I didn't go back.
What sharpeners is everyone using? and what kind of erasers?
my sharpener of choice
...in conjunction with magic rub erasers, though I don't erase much, only if I've made a mistake diagramming or something... even then I can see an argument for using one of those caps in the interest of saving a few seconds...

I usually have a trash can nearby or make a mini-pile that I dispose of during my break/after the test. I'm aware that this might be a handicap I should eliminate prior to the actual test, but none of the sharpeners with compartments has really won me over, they seem to loosen the graphite or sharpen at too acute an angle or some such annoyance...TheMostDangerousLG wrote:

I can't reiterate this point enough. Don't use a pencil on game day that you haven't extensively practiced with.ManoftheHour wrote:I like the Ticon blacks, but I'm keeping my eyes open for anything better before May. Don't worry man. I won't. It'd be the equivalent of:deputydog wrote:I can't reiterate this point enough. I gotta get me some of those Helix caps.deputydog wrote:Thought I'd let you guys see my swag.
Tri-writes, Ticonderogas, and Black Warriors. Those Helix caps are SICK!
They are sick bro. It looks like we both have weak eraser game though. It's also cool that we are currently testing in the same book too.ManoftheHour wrote:I gotta get me some of those Helix caps.deputydog wrote:Thought I'd let you guys see my swag.

I'll probably use them on the LSAT if they end up being my favorite to use for PTs because I don't think bubble sheets care if they're labeled as long as they're dark enough, but don't use them if not having a number is going to bother you on the test. Palomino's pencils made in USA like Golden Bear are graded #2, and the Japanese pencils like these (LinkRemoved) are graded HB (international #2). My Ticonderogas and Tri-conderogas are labeled with both #2 and HB.TheMostDangerousLG wrote:I was told they aren't. It's the pencil sharpener that my ex gave me...which is actually the only pencil sharpener that I have.Dr. Dre wrote:ManoftheHour wrote:

Why do you still have them? Donate them to someone already. Also, what the hell is that pink thing with a cow picture?
The triconderogas appear to hold the best point, but the grip is uncomfortable. I love the grip of the black warriors the best, but it is hard to keep the point on it. It dulls fast. The traditional Ticonderoga appears to be the happy median between the two. I think I need to do more research with the Black Warriors though. I'm thinking if I can step my sharpener game up, it has the potentenial to become my favorite.Dr. Dre wrote:deputydog how are you liking the black warriors in comparison to the tri-writes and the ticonderogas ?
