Hopefully...bouakedojo wrote:No it was more curiosity than anything. I thought I had done all the comparative passages.TheLuckyOne wrote:Law. If you want to, I can send you one.
I am still waiting for hopefully good results.

EDIT: I've found it (http://s3.amazonaws.com/minglebox-file/ ... d918f7.pdf).
Mods, this test was on LSAC's website not too long ago(in fact, the original version is still there), so I figured it's Ok to post the link, if not, feel free to remove it. The only difference between them is that LSAC replaced ordinary law passage with the comparative one.

Re: Hardest Reading Comprehension Passages?
I took a class that we read Dworkin and his opponents. On that practice test I remember getting perfect on the Dworkin passage and thinking damn why cant all RC be this easy...RC was my toughest section usually getting ~-3-7.... Weird how people perceive different sections as hardest.pre-law wrote: Social Science:[/b] Political Science, Economics, Communication, Linguistics, and Philosophy passages
- Ronald Dworkin and Legal Positivism vs Morality (PT 35)
For me it was always about art or music since I just have absolutely no interest in these subjects.

Re: Hardest Reading Comprehension Passages?
Exact same thing happened to me with the Dworkin passage, except if I remember correctly, I hadn't just read about Dworkin (I'm sure many people have), but I'm pretty sure the reading sample was from a book I read last semester for my Philosophy of Law class. It was extremely familiar feeling.MSUPHL wrote:I took a class that we read Dworkin and his opponents. Riddled basins broke my soul. It was a month and a half ago - maybe two months ago - that I did it, and I still haven't recovered.

pre-law wrote:What are the hardest reading comprehension passages you guys have come across? I'm trying to put a comprehensive list of the top 10 or so. I would also like to classify them by hardest Reading Comprehension for all of the 4 categories (humanities, science, law, social science). The 10 hardest passages I've ever come across were:
Science: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math passages
- Maize Corn (PT 49)
- Riddled Basins of Attraction (PT 50)
- Brain Recognition of Carbohydrate Consumption (PT 12)
Social Science: Political Science, Economics, Communication, Linguistics, and Philosophy passages
- Risk-Taking in International Relations (PT 37)
- Ronald Dworkin and Legal Positivism vs Morality (PT 35)
- Hippocratic Oath (PT 45)
- Code Switching among Puerto Rican Americans (PT 43)
Humanities: Literature, Visual Art, Performing Art, and Architecture passages
- Maxine Kingston and the Chinese Talk-Story (PT 55)
- Willa Cather (PT 57)
Law passages
- Gray Marketing (PT8)
I agree about the code switching one and Willa Cather but you really thought grey marketing was tough?

I hate the maize passage too, in fact I just did really poorly on it (AGAIN) and this post made me feel a little better

I agree that the talk-story on October 2008 was a bitch. That question about which one of the following is most analogous/cotton weaving was a pain.

Re: Hardest Reading Comprehension Passages?
The Bramble Bush by Karl Llewellyn has got to be the driest legal reading of all time. My section was assigned to read it three times over the course of the semester and it's just torture.

Re: Hardest Reading Comprehension Passages?
Definitely riddled basins and Chinese talk story (missed the entire tone of passage = fml).
Don't think any Sept 09 will be added. If there is one, I guess it would be constitutional law, but it wasn't that tough, just took me longer than usual to get through

Re: Hardest Reading Comprehension Passages?
I had like no time left on the PT where I had riddled basins and had to skim it. I got the questions right. The basic point was, that everything is random.abbas123 wrote:i still can't figure out riddled basins. couldn't find anything about it in the forum can someone PLEASE tell me whats it about? thanks

This is the only one out of the ones people have listed that I think was really hard. For me 51 is probably the hardest as a whole section.lawduder wrote:There was one about "group think" or something that I found particularly difficult... can't remember the PT
