What is the 16-week program? Does it really take that long to get through the Trainer?O.J. wrote:I'm in for September.
I look forward to learning from you guys. So far I'm going to start the LSAT Trainer in two weeks, and do the 16-week program, which will leave me with a couple months to PT after that and really focus on my weaknesses.
BTW, what are you guys doing this early outside of LSAT prep? Meaning, what are doing with your timeline for applying to schools? I figure this early I would register for an LSAC account and CAS. Maybe start hitting up a couple professors for letters. What else should I be doing this early?
Good luck guys!

HI everyone
I am also planning on taking the September test, Since september is almost 6 months away, I am wondering how do I reenforce the material over the span of about 5 and half months, without forgetting the skills, because september is quite a few months away. what should I do? I don't wanna burn through the material and have nothing left. Does anyone have any ideas?

Trust me, you most likely will not forget the techniques and skills you learn by September. 6 months can sometimes even be too little time for some people believe it or not.. As long as you keep at it and don't go like 2 months (exaggerating) without at least doing some LSAT stuff, you will be fine honestly.orzo wrote:HI everyone

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group
I was thinking about how I could maximize my review time after PTs, and I was given some great advice-talking about the exam with another test taker. Would any of you, preferably someone who has their basics down and have advanced a little farther in their studies/are currently taking PTs, like to join me in a sort of skype/voice chat discussion over practice exams?
My aim is for a 175-180 and I think that we can iron out silly mistakes by listening to the approaches and recommendations of other text takers; additionally, I think this helps simply with understanding the test's mechanics overall.
Who's with me?!

I started studying for September 2016 last fall because I work at a huge corporate firm so I don't have much time. I have been using the Trainer also and I love it however, I use Manhattan for Games and trainer for LR and RC. Not sure how I feel about trainer for RC but I just started that section last week and it seems alright. Worse comes to worse I do have the Powerscore RC too just incase. : )

I've used the Powerscore RC, Manhattan RC, and LSAT Trainer. Manhattan is RC is by far the best (in my opinion)! I didn't find the Powerscore RC that useful.Esther91 wrote:Hi Guys,

Hi guys, longtime lurker and it is finally time for me to do this! Took my diagnostic today, and I have a LOT of work to do. I am shooting for 170 by September, pray for me
I am going to start with the LSAT Trainer and then do Manhattan LR and 7Sage LG if I need additional work in those areas. Do you guys think it is possible for me to get to 170 by September studying 3 hours per weekday and 6 hours per weekend day? Here is my diagnostic breakdown:
Preptest June 2007: 155
12/23 LG
20/25 LR1
17/25 LR2
20/27 RC

155 --> 170 is very doable, but I definitely wouldn't study 27 hours a week!Desiigner wrote:Hi guys, longtime lurker and it is finally time for me to do this! Took my diagnostic today, and I have a LOT of work to do. I am shooting for 170 by September, pray for me![]()

If I have the time is there something wrong with studying that much? Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group
hmm I guess it depends on the person, but most people would burn out studying that much (I would). It's also important to keep your motivation high, and I think if you study the LSAT for 27 hours a week, you'd get really bored and sick of studying really quickly (I couldn't study 27 hours a week for 3-4 months without getting sick of the LSAT). You want to be excited when you approach your studying, and I think it'd be hard to get excited after a while if you do it 27 hours a week. but again, it depends on the person, and if you think you can study this much without any serious negative consequences, try it! This is just how I personally would feel about studying this much (and echoing the opinions I've seen elsewhere). I see LSAT studying as a marathon you must jog your way through, you can't start off sprinting (again, this is what works best for me and what I think would work best for most people)!Desiigner wrote:If I have the time is there something wrong with studying that much? Instead of having a target number of hours to do in a week, have a target amount of material to get through each week. However many hours it takes then depends on how thoroughly you study in that week.proteinshake wrote:hmm I guess it depends on the person, but most people would burn out studying that much (I would). Hi, all looking at doing my first re-take in September. Took the February and got a 165 after just following a Kaplan study guide and doing a few practice tests so hoping to up that to a 170+ looking 175ish range. Going to try and follow Pithypikes guide starting sometime next month.
Good luck everyone!

As much as I hate to say it, I might be joining this group.. I still haven't taken a PT and am still going through the question types. Right now, I'm still aiming for June but I might join this group if I don't feel prepared in time..

Re: The Official September 2016 Study Group
I'm looking at dual (JD/PHD) programs. There are about 6 schools that fit my criteria.
Took the LSAT my JR year of college and got a 144. Traveled the world for a few years and wrapping up my masters in the summer.
Recent PT was around -10 per section.
Will spend the next month focusing on the Bibles and practicing the individual sections untimed. As I get comfortable, then timed sections.
Will start timed PTs in May under test center conditions.
My realistic goal is anywhere between a 160-165.

BTW, If I don't get a full ride/full funding then I'll sit out until the next cycle.

On chapter 8 of the Trainer now.. about 10 chapters until I will start drilling by type - I'm hoping to get there by Sunday. Feeling very motivated and excited to study, I hope it doesn't wear off lol.

I'm just about start now. I ordered my study materials a couple months ago (before the 2016 version came out), so I'll be using 2015. I can't imagine there's much of a difference.Desiigner wrote:On chapter 8 of the Trainer now.. about 10 chapters until I will start drilling by type - I'm hoping to get there by Sunday. Good luck everyone else. I got a 153 on diagnostic, though I wasn't very strict on the time limit, especially for LG.
Anyway, if anyone is in Chicago and would wanna meet up a couple times a week to study together, I'm your guy. I'll be working in west loop until June, but, luckily, I only work 40 hours a week, so I'm usually done around 5:00, and I live in Gold Coast until May 31.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
