it depends on a number of things i think. are all the new takers applying; is the increase proportional across the score bands; are law schools going to keep class sizes low and try to increase medians, or will they increase class sizes in hopes of increasing tuition. these are a few i can think of. the numbers so far are still way down from a few years ago, yeah. they seem to be rebounding to about 2013-2014 numbers, if not a little less. but if more people apply this cycle should be more competitive than the last for at least some applicants. but by how much and for whom remains unclearJCDante wrote:This would be a flaw on the LSAT assuming that what was true in the past will be true in the future, but this increase in test takers shouldn't be a problem, no? We are likely at the bottom now and are on our way up, but it's not like it will be 2009 levels over night. This cycle, and even the next few cycles, will be more like a rollback to 2011-2014, correct?

June first-time test takers up 10%, October up 7.4% (both up greater than all test-takers, percentage-wise).sox49 wrote:it depends on a number of things i think. are all the new takers applying; is the increase proportional across the score bands; are law schools going to keep class sizes low and try to increase medians, or will they increase class sizes in hopes of increasing tuition. these are a few i can think of. the numbers so far are still way down from a few years ago, yeah. they seem to be rebounding to about 2013-2014 numbers, if not a little less. but if more people apply this cycle should be more competitive than the last for at least some applicants. but by how much and for whom remains unclearJCDante wrote:This would be a flaw on the LSAT assuming that what was true in the past will be true in the future, but this increase in test takers shouldn't be a problem, no? I blogged on speculation of this which I won't link because it already is on the previous page. I think it will likely just mean a longer wait for some and more awkward freakouts to admission offices for a few.
