When I was trying to figure out what worked for me, I could tell a difference when I paid attention to the details. Whether it is placebo effect or something else, I think it helped.

UHM during this long and tough exam, a snack break feels like the biggest treat ever. I'm chillin.

The snack was mostly useful to keep me focused on something during the break. The last thing I wanted was to start obsessing about questions I might have missed in the first three sections.

I had two bananas and a Mountain Dew. I saw other people with sandwiches, nuts, candy, etc.

no purpose, lsat is not graded on a curve, the raw score to scaled score conversion is predetermined. other people's performance at the same sitting is irrelevant.

Definitely EAT breakfast. I only had a very modest breakfast, and it really backfired.
However, eat something you always eat during practice test breaks. An energy bar, or an apple. I advise against any excessive liquid, since it will result in a run to the bathroom.

This. A fruit and a Soda are your best bet. Anything else takes away energy needed for other functions and uses that energy to help you digest food.

You could do Cashews also. But I would only do a handful at the most. Cashews elevate your mood.

Also eat Breakfast. No dairy. If eating meat eat 2 hrs before test if not 1hr before test. Good luck

Yesterday, during my '15-minute' break, while I sipped my gatorade, I spent 13-22 seconds contemplating this advice. I found it to be fairly accurate.

Soda is great. I was the only person drinking anything stronger than water at my test center, but I definitely think that that caffeine and sugar boost is useful. So what if it throws off your calorie count for the day? Scoring well is more important.

Cliff bar and NOS. Had to pour it into a water bottle though because I couldn't find the screw to plastic bottle at any of the stores I went to that morning. If you haven't had NOS, you're missing out, it's like a Fresca!

I had one of those powerbar gel packs infused with caffeine. My heart was beating like crazy while checking in. It was only 25mg too.

Everyone taking the test should experiment with some different snack combinations during their timed preptests. The perfect balance should ideally give you an energy boost without making you too wired/jittery. Unless super wired/jittery is your ideal state. Oh yeah, and consider your bowels as well. I saw someone in here recommend a protein shake, which sounds nice in theory, but in my case would make me a fart machine.

My perfect snack was two granola bars and half a can of Red Bull. I drank a full can during a PT break and my mind kept wandering during section 4, so I cut it down to half.
