You seem lost here.
I am saying to avoid taking no course at all. Kaplan was meant as an example. Take whoever you want. I knew a namedrop would have this result, but the other poster seemed lost without one. (insert your company of choice here)

Far from lost. Thanks for the concern though.

I took Kaplan, but I hear others are good too.
Yes, I've taken the LSAT, and would recommend to anyone to self study with quality materials (powerscore, Manhattan, LSAT Trainer, Cambridge packets, PTs) over the live classes. In your Kaplan class you probably only took 4-6 full length practice tests. That's not nearly enough for most people to be prepared.
You sound like you think someone has to pick between eating only fruits or only vegetables
You can certainly do both. I have personally found a lot more value in the self study route, so I see no point in dropping $1,000+ on a substandard prep option.
Whatever works best for you I guess, but have you TRIED a prep company or are you just assuming?

Stop being thick, xxx. Kaplan is no leg to stand on. Self-study using the right materials is a way better move than Kaplan.

I took a live course along with self study the first time. The live course moved way too slow and often felt like a waste of time and again, only a small number of full tests. I'm retaking in June and doing all self study this time.

I know I said I was out, but I had to toss in that I respect that.
Sounds like an educated decision. Best of luck. Retakers tend to do worse, but only those who don't learn what works best FOR THEM. I still think MOST people need the full course, but you know you better than I or anyone else. You'll do good. I can feel it.

Okay I'm curious... Who were the three 179s that elected to retake? It looks like one got the 180, one got another 179 (lol at your almost perfection, still pretty impressive), and one got a 174. Like I guess all of them are probably still safe. But is the 180 preftige really worth retaking the 179?

Most likely the test prep company instructors aka the professional LSATers.
