Dude. It's a joke. On April Fool's.

No offense, but it's easy to say "it's just a joke" when the joke doesn't effect you.

If it effects [sic] you for more than 30 seconds, your RC score is probably going to suck anyway.

I'm just amazed anyone fell for it long enough to be upset. It's really obviously a joke.

You really need to lighten up buddy. This doesn't have any bearing on your prep... someone pulled your leg for a few seconds on April Fool's day. Maybe you should sit back and try to think if you're taking a multiple choice test a little too seriously that this is the end of the world to you...

The answer to this is we actually had a discussion on what to post. We do take our business seriously, but we try not to take ourselves seriously 24/7. So the LSAT idea came up because I was so dead wrong previously about predicting the LSAT release date through my LSAT sources. It was a way to bring this admittedly silly thing into existence by poking fun at myself right off the bat. Other suggestions were Princeton making a Law School, Gibson Dunn merging with us, and a new USNWR metric (we turned this one down because we thought people might believe us since we have broken the rankings) but we thought this one would be pretty obviously a joke (with the built in TOYS -- I mean the entire thing was about LSAT giving you a kit of toys to play with) and therefore was a joke more near and dear to people's hearts. We could blog on our site about me running a 10k but no one really would care.

Also, we never linked it here, intentionally. We figured we would tweet and let people figure it out quickly there, which they did. If people wanted to retweet or share we figured that was entirely up to them, it would happen organically, and they could control that process. But all along we thought people would get to about get to the "aptitude kit" idea and laugh it away.

You live and you learn -- we do try to respect the serious-minded nature of many on this board so likely won't do this again, although I think we could just make something so absurd people would just ignore it. But we won't.

Apologies if this freaked anyone out. We thought, especially given the date, it was a pretty obvious joke. We'll stick to normal blogs on real data and advice going forward.

I could've sworn I've read something like this several months ago as a joke....could be wrong, but comical nonetheless.

Good thing there's no situational awareness section on the LSAT, otherwise some of these 0L's would be screwed.

Mike,

Keep on keepin' on. I thought it was an obvious joke, and a funny one at that. You can't keep everyone happy! This place needs a lightened mood every once in a while!

If you couldn't tell it was a joke by the time you read the words "visual-spatial reasoning," I hope we are not classmates. Lighten up folks.
