When are people waking up? I want to wake up no earlier than 6:30am but no later than 6:45am. A shower and a breakfast of oatmeal and a banana with a cup of coffee should suffice until the break, which I expect around 10:45am-11:00am at the latest.

I drink a large portion of coffee about 2 hours before, effectively taking the test without any in my system.

I am going to be waking up at 7. It should be easy because I wake up at 7 everyday for work anyway. The key thing is to get used to waking up at a certain time that way your brain is fully functional come test time.0913djp wrote:When are people waking up? I'm aiming for 6:00. It usually takes a while for my mind to feel awake, and I want to be able to go for a light jog, shower, eat, and get to the testing center with enough time to do a few practice problems.0913djp wrote:When are people waking up? I will also probably drink some caffeinated tea right when I wake up, and then take either a five hour energy or a caffeine pill about 30 minutes before the test.

This is somewhat embarrassing but I have a schedule laid out already...0913djp wrote:When are people waking up? I want to wake up no earlier than 6:30am but no later than 6:45am. 6:00 Wake up
6:00-6:10 Wash face, poop
6:10-6:30 Jump rope
6:30-6:40 Shower
6:40-6:50 Change, check supplies
6:50-7:00 Breakfast
7:00-7:30 Warm up
7:30-7:35 Poop again
7:35 Leave for test center
I'm having Greek yogurt and granola for breakfast, with maybe orange juice. Moving back my sleep cycle to six am has been a bitchhhhhh.
I wish I could run before the test, but leaving my house to run when my schedule is actually so tight makes me uncomfortable. Hence the jumping rope.

Nah, just want to make sure I've got it scheduled in there. Plus, the first is like my morning dump and the next is my post-breakfast-post-workout one. This is an all time new low folks.mhaas wrote:Whats the deal? Re: Optimal Caffeine Intake for Test Day
This is totally anecdotal, but I chugged a Coke one day during my break of a 5-section PT. I was antsy and decided to check my progress on the first half (and experimental), and went -9. I was pretty mad, so I chugged that coke and paced around my kitchen, then subsequently obliterated the last two sections in 27 and 29 minutes respectively and went -0 in a fit of LSAT-crushing rage.
I wouldn't recommend counting on a surge of caffeine to help you though.

Each of the following explanations, if true, would help resolve the apparent discrepancy between the premises and conclusion above EXCEPT?cahwc12 wrote:This is totally anecdotal, but I chugged a Coke one day during my break of a 5-section PT. A) In the majority other practice LSATs, caffeine ingested resulted in significantly lower rates of accuracy after ingestion.
B) The last two sections of the PT described were unusually easy.
C) The Coke in fact did not have caffeine, but rather a more advanced brain-enhancing stimulant.
D) The "LSAT-crushing rage", that came about due to the caffeine, inevitably resulted in the test-taker later physically damaging the answer sheet, which would have made the test non-gradable under true testing circumstances.
E) YOLO
Sorry, just had to. lol.

Picked some of this stuff up last night at whole foods. Definitely felt less of a drag in the last 2 sections of my PT this morning.

They have these cough drop like candy's at my bookstore that are AMAZING. They contain 50 mg per drop, and 10 of them are like 3 bucks. You can pop them in whenever and you feel it instantly. Add a nice cup of coffee before then, and be ready to pop one in the mouth any time, no one will say anything.lsatyolo wrote:http://www.chameleoncoldbrew.com/

Found this great deal at Costco this weekend:
--LinkRemoved--
They taste/work exactly like 5 hour energy extra strength and they are going for less than a dollar a piece.

So what's the benefit of these cold-brew coffees other than convenience? They're stronger when undiluted?

3x the caffeine, according to the bottle which I bought. The website also claims that if you reheat the coffee it won't become bitter. The bottle was around $11, I usually spend somewhere around $9-$11 to buy some good stuff from the grocery store. The stuff from the grocery store, although very tasty, tends to go bad in a lil over a week. It actually starts to taste bitter because of how it reacts to oxygen.

Hahaha that was basically my test day routine, right down to the double poop scheduled in.
The number of returns "scoobers" and "poop" get in the search bar...

One green tea with ample time to go to the bathroom before test time. The trick is to try out your caffeine intake during morning PTs in order to get a feel for them.
