What is the LSAT proctor app called? Just tried searching for it in the app store and turned up nothingcogitoergosum wrote:thelawschoolproject wrote:Congratulations!
I'm completely jealous, mind telling me what you did?
I started prepping for a re-take in mid May, took 3 pt's and saw that LG's were killing me. Got the Powerscore LG Bible, as well as Manhattan RC (TLS consensus seems to be that these are the best for LG and RC). Kept PT'ing while going through those, and have been seeing steady overall improvement:
May 16: 165
May 25: 165
June 1: 165
June 4: 167
June 7: 164
June 10: 169
June 13: 165
June 16: 168
June 20: 169
June 21: 167
June 22: 168
June 22: 172 (yes, I took 2 pt's yesterday)
I always take pt's with the LSAT proctor app on my iphone, which I think allows me to simulate testing conditions better than otherwise.
I did a Testmasters class last year, which I think was helpful, but I think the best thing this time around has been taking lots of pt's, and reviewing what I missed afterward. Lots of people talk about that here. I think that, along with some help from Powerscore or Manhattan books on your trouble sections can really work...

It's just called LSAT Proctor. I looked in the store for it and I actually can't find it either. Weird.
I was able to save it to my desktop though, I'm not sure if it works like this, but if you pm me your email address, I can try sending the file to you, and you could try dragging it into your apps window on itunes? Let me know if you want to try it.

Thanks, I PM'd you. I did find an app called LSAT Titan that has EVERY available official licensed question from every single preptest on it. I didn't even know a $499.99 app existed

Congratulations. I remember when I first broke 170 on a prep test. It was a glorious feeling.
Your work is not done, however. Take it from me, getting 170+ on prep tests does not mean you will reach 170 on a real test. So keep working at it.

Absolutely. Agreed.omninode wrote:Congratulations. I remember when I first broke 170 on a prep test. It was a glorious feeling.

As an update - I scored 178 on the next test after my 172, which was pretty WILD. It was PT 1 (from June 1991), so I'm not taking it TOO seriously, but nevertheless, a 178 is pretty unbelievable to me.
All over again, thanks TLS.

Very nice, congrats Sounder. For whatever it may be worth, I have found the method of taking lots of PT's and reviewing all your missed answers to be very effective. Scored 178 again today on PT 45. I never, NEVER thought I would be scoring in high 170's.

Re: Finally broke 170!!!
I hope to be in the same boat within the next couple months
I've been using the same method, taking 3-4 timed PTs a week and thoroughly reviewing them afterwards, plus re-doing the LG section of each test without timing myself. Ive been prepping this way for a little over a month now and it's gong great so far, never thought I would be breaking 170 with 3 months to go

Here's a free proctor that I like better than any paid one I've seen. It's available for download as an iphone app or an mp3 file.
