Re: about to quit
See theres your problem. youre being negative. No such thing as a bad breakup. every breakup is good because it means that you werent meant to be with that person and hence you escaped from any potential future unhappiness. LSAT prep can seem difficult at time, but if you put in the necessary time and effort, you'll see improvements. Dont rush it.
Good luck!
Good luck!

Break your attack down into small pieces. FOCUS on ONE topic at a time. That is manageable and makes you feel like you are making progressing. Shotgun approach does not work as well and is frustrating. TODAY you will become the MASTER of Assumption questions. MASTER them.Ineedhelpplease wrote:im trying me best to stay positive but its becoming more and more difficult.... my games skills have improved alot where on my first prep i got a -3... reading comp which i havent focused on until recently is getting better... logical reasoning is horrible... i understand it but cant translate it to answering questions.... its so fustrating.... granted i just begun to time myself.... its horrible..... just needed to vent
Find a methodical study approach. Identify tasks to complete each day.
Focus on the plan. LEARN concepts.
Check out the various study plans posted by myself and others on here. I think Pithypike has one that is stickied.
FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS. It is going to be ok. This test is learneable. Put in the time and you will be fine.

You know there's this whole wide world of punctuation out there. You could use a dash - or a semicolon ; or even a full colon : !
But seriously, you'll never make any headway if you're stressed out. The worst result of being stressed out is that you'll convince yourself you can't do the LR section, and that's just a self-fulfilling prophecy.

i would say dont worry about schools yet, just focus on the test. I really want UF or FSU ( or even UM with a scholly) and I find that thinking about the needed score ( hi 161+) just makes me more anxious, and easily frustrated, or angry. I try not to think of what score I need, but rather, doing the best that I can on this test- and accept whatever that score is. ( if its not what I need, ,then law isnt going to happen for me, and ill have to go to plan b- which I havent even considerded until now.)
If you are really getting worked up, perhaps stepping away for a day or 2 and doing some activity that you really like may be in order ( go golfing, drinking, play cards, call up a friend and catch up, etc)

It's gourmet. You take a sushi and add a douche and you get a dushe, or dushi as most people like to call it.Kobe_Teeth wrote:what's a "dushe?"

Did you hear that? Studying for the LSAT is hard. Wow, that's probably news to everyone on TLS.Ineedhelpplease wrote:im trying me best to stay positive but its becoming more and more difficult.... my games skills have improved alot where on my first prep i got a -3... reading comp which i havent focused on until recently is getting better... logical reasoning is horrible... i understand it but cant translate it to answering questions.... its so fustrating.... granted i just begun to time myself.... its horrible..... just needed to vent

Re: about to quit
I'll just chime in to reinforce a couple things that have already been said:
1) Root-out and focus on the problems that seem to give you trouble (i.e. parallel reasoning, flaw, etc). Use the Mastery book or the LR Bible (or even take a class). In my experience, this was far more beneficial to my understanding of the test than simply taking PT after PT. It helps a lot to have someone else break these problems apart and give you a solid strategy of attack. You might "ruin" a few PTs in doing this, but there's plenty of PTs out there- you'll be all right.
2) Stay positive. This will help your study (and your test-day performance) immensely. Seriously. Visualize yourself succeeding; remember how good you felt after acing a big test or delivering a great performance in another activity. Panic and negativity are the enemies of good scores.
3) Stop.... typing... like... this. Seriously, cut that shit out. It's annoying.
4) Good luck. And remember: it's a marathon, not a sprint. You may have a few "a-ha!" moments in your study, but most of your performance gains will be gradual. Keep at it.

How much time were you taking when you weren't timing yourself? Try this. See how much time it you take when you aren't timing. Yes it sounds weird. Basically start a timer and forget about it. Work at a comfortable pace. Then see how much time it took. Don't try to do it in the 35 minutes yet. Shave a few minutes off the time for your next test. Do a couple like that. Then shave another few minutes and continue repeating until you are down to 35. That way you don't have a drastic reduction and are rushing through because the clock is in the back of your mind.

When a person posts something on tls it's great when you get supportive, informative information but when assholes like the poster above are on it gets so fucking annoying... So to those who have that negative shit to say I guess go somewhere and kill yourself... To those who show support i greatly appreciate it...
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
