PT 29:
LR1: 21/25 - haha ouch. This was the first full section I took, and it was before I went back through the LR bible. Def was having some issues. Also def shows how useful the material in there is.
LR2(section 4): 24/25 - This is the one I was actually trying to ask about, the only one I got wrong in here was 17 - what I was writing above actually was referring to this. Let me know what you think if you get around to taking that section
RC: 26/27 - one ext stupid mistake. Like, cocky didn't read carefully mistake.
LG: gotta go digging and find them, I destroyed all my tests dividing up the LG sections by game type

I promise to pay attention to what I am typing from now on/not post while drinking beer and watching tv and thinking of something else.

Seriously, I actually found that passage pretty fascinating (although it could have been better-written, of course). Science is cool. Just ask whoever made this:

I really just think people like the word platypus. I can’t see why that RC passage is so beloved, and if I had the aptitude for science, I would be a doctor, not a want to be lawyer. Mistakes…

Anyway, like I said, I’ve been short on time this week. So, I didn’t get to complete PT30. Here are my results thus far:

LG: 20/24. Game 3? Anyone want to share an effective, fast setup for this game. I lost all 4 points there.
RC: 25/27
LR1: 23/26
LR2: Saving it for after I get through all of Kaplan Mastery and LR Bible (strange strategy, I know) I am a little short on prep material I haven’t seen. And I don’t want to get a skewed view of my progress.

Looked at 17 from PT 29. I think the key here is they are asking about the underlying principle given to PO’s. And choice D is not really a principle at all. Choice A relates more to the issue of outside influences affecting witnesses testimonies and why the department seperates witnesses during suspect lineups. HTH.

How are you making out hoop?

Hey, just got together my games section and finished up PT29. Gonna do 30 and 44 sat hopefully. This week is totally getting away from me at work.

Final PT 29: 176
LG -0

hip: the 4th game i set up as a basic linear sequencing _ _ _ _ _ _. Then thought about the distribution, reread the inital paragraph, figured out one would have 3 and one 2. Then as I was going through the rules I was like duh. So I basically had pure sequencing with 2 blocks already made.

Does that make sense? I dunno its hard to discuss games when typing lol

Hey, congrats on that big 176. That's sick. I landed at a 171 on PT29, and I'm pretty stoked. But, it definitely exposed my weakness in logic reasoning, and apparently I am all of sudden way better at games? Strange.

I did figure out the 2/3 situation. But somehow the whole setup was awkward. I will just do it again. Thankfully I only got two wrong there.
PT 30 should be done tomorrow. And I down for 44 on Sat.

Target Schools:
Cornell
UVA (ED)
Northwestern
Duke
Vanderbilt
BC/BU
That is my motivation. If you keep scoring at where you are now, where do you want to go?

I really want CCN. Beyond that I havent really thought too hard. Any input would be appreciated, lol kinda taking it one step at a time.

8) Gonna take a 5 hour after work and try to knock out 44. Wish me luck!

btw, where did everyone else go? motivation didn't last long enough to do one preptest?

Yea, for real. I'm on the way to the library now. You have good numbers, I think if you hit your target score you could make it into CCN.
I'll report back my results later today. Good luck today, buddy.

omg. so annoyed. got raped by the third game, b/c apparently my brain could not successfully process more recent century = bigger numbers. aaaagh fml.

So. right back where I was 2 years ago, at least I didn't do worse tho.

RC: -3
LR: -3
LG: -4 (all in one game! I got one right out of sheer luck I think b/c I did all the rules backwards)
LR: -1

total: -11 : 169

Hmm. also starting to think maybe a 5 hour energy right before I started made me more jittery than necessary. Got back into my groove by the last LR section.

Howd you do?

Ok, here are my results:

LG: -0
RC: -4
LR: -3
LR: -4

I owned this LG section and hope to see a similar one in October. Felt pretty shitty about my LR section again. I keep making careless mistakes.
Which game did you mess up?

I had a similar experience w/ the Starbucks Doubleshot Energy + Coffee drink. It's tough to find that balance between energy, work, and studying. It's getting out of hand. I think I may end up taking a week off and just study the LR Bible non-stop and try to improve on that embarrassment.

I got - 11 also. But I scored myself at a 171, how'd you get a 169? Check that out. You may feel better about yourself.

Actually, I lost the conversion chart, found one online that said -11 was 169. I believe you tho, and I do feel better now

Do you want to go through your LR mistakes? Writing it out helps. Which I will do when I have a moment. RC was worse than normal for me too, im blaming that on a niacin rush tho

Alright here goes: fml just realized i had - 12, -13 if I want to count one where i was right by guessing luck. Could you pm me the conversion table? kinda want to see how tough the scale is.

RC1
1. Chose D, E is right (way to start off the test huh): I think I was thrown off by the "many subscribers" in the right answer, but now that I go back and look the last few sentences (the conclusion) are not about financial impact, E is a better paraphrase. Hmm. If I get any wrong on RC they are always main point questions, I never really try to equate them with the conclusion, but it seems I might just have had an epiphany. What are your thoughts? How do you attack these?
7.was choosing between A, D, and E, chose E. Kinda lost on this one.
18. Chose A, E is right. Im pretty sure this is focusing on the fact that some cells are programmed to die, A just goes to far in telling you how they have to die. E is a more subtle way of saying they dont all serve a final purpose.

LR1
11. Chose E, B is right: was going to choose B, thought E was safer, didnt really pay attention to the word accurate at the end of the prompt. (im thinking 'accurate' means 'mathematically correct' is still important)
13. Chose D, after initially choosing A, A is right: Seem to have screwed up my diagramming, cant really tell the difference between these two answers .What did u get?
15. Gonna throw this in here cuz I pretty much guessed between B and D, B is right. I was thinking it had to be in Europe, but was trying to explain the link between cracks and earthquakes for some stupid reason.
20. Picked D, B is right. B sounded good to me until I convinced myself that the phrase 'impulsive behavior similiar to adult..." saved him from this criticism, b/c it was by definition similiar. .... kinda stumped here.
24. Picked B, E is right : eh, not sure. thoughts?

LG: omg. I will wait and see if I can go back and do the third game (tour group, archeological sites), without reading the rules like a retard. only got 14 right out of all these questions by a fluke. sigh.

LR2:
22. Picked E, C is right. In choosing between these two, couldnt figure out if the argument was wrong by ignoring other possible times to neuter or whether that is the only things that leads to arthritis. Thoughts?

oof. Thats all for me. lets see yours.

Yea, I'm in New York. You are in California? I'm just arriving at work now. I'll post when I get done. I was too tired to last night as well. Are you ready to quit your job, or what? From what I briefly looked at from your last post, I think we missed a few of the same

hey everyone.. thought I'd post here since I'm thinking about retaking the exam in october. I scored a 166 this last June. My background is a 3.96 lsat gpa from a private school. I also have work experience in public accounting.

I previously started studying in february but only took around 7-8 preptests before my first try and the last month before the exam was really busy for me at work so I barely studied. My goal is top 14.

any advice? thanks!

Right now I work for a non-profit dealing specifically w/ fundraising and coordinating charitable events. Before that I worked as a paralegal in NYC. Bottom line: I hate working.

Hoop:
I am so sorry, I did PT 45. I have no idea why. I just reread the post and saw that we were supposed to be doing 44. No wonder why I have been messing up on RC section and giving you the wrong conversion scale...My bad
After seeing your post about the LG’s with the archeological sites, I realized I had made an error. Because I hate that game.

Anyway, I have written out all my answers and why they are wrong for PT 45. And will gladly post them when you are ready.

I want in on this. I took the June test and scored 167, shooting for 170+. Can you guys pm me if you have a test day scheduled? Also which PT's should I get my hands on, I have a few of the newer ones that I was waiting to use until Sept. I'm working through the Bibles right now, first LSAT I used the Princeton Review Method and did a shitload of PT's. I'm refining my approach with the bibles and I think it would be great if we took the same PT's on Sat. and then posted the ones we missed with (fairly) detailed analysis. I hope I'm not jumping in too midstream with you guys but I would appreciate/value some dedicated study partners. :D

PS. just did games section of PT31. How the hell do you diagram the 4th game? I ended up getting them all right but it took me like 10 minutes and it was messsssyyy. Thoughts?

(it is the construction, housing, mexican workers one, lol)

Sorry Hoop. I have been missing. I am a little burned out from work and this study schedule that I had in place, so I took a few days off. I will post my results either sat or sun. Congrats on that 177. I don't even know what to say to you. But, I am jealous.
I'll also give 31 Game 4 a whirl.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
