What's the harm in taking the test, waiting for your score, and if it is not the score you really want, you retake it in October? Don't most schools just look at your highest score anyways? Why cancel/take an absences?

I don't know honestly, I don't want to hurt my record by taking this test. That is why I am asking around.

Oblivion - I'm actually pulling for the Celtics. I'm not a lakers fan, I just think Ron Artest is the most interesting man in sports.
Whatever floats your boat on the prep. Good luck!

Most schools do, but some don't unless there is at least a three point difference in the scores. Personally, I think it's worth the cost of the test to take the absence and not burn your eligibility if you know you aren't ready.nsideirish wrote:What's the harm in taking the test, waiting for your score, and if it is not the score you really want, you retake it in October? I would take an absence. Work through a bunch of untimed practice tests and get the bibles to teach you why your answers are wrong. Also, Kaplan might have a student center where you can get explanations for the PTs which will also help you realize why you got them wrong. A 160 should be possible with a lot of hard work and time.
Good luck.

How long have you been studying? I am in a similar position as you. However this is my first lsat and if I score somewhere around my average on Saturday I am going to take the lsat on Monday and just wait for my score. If I do not like it then I will study my ass off for the October test. My thought is even though my lsat practice test have been low as of late. Usually they are near where I want them to be.
