I always found these threads encouraging when I was studying for the lsat, so Ill add my info...
My diagnostic was a 148. got a 164* on the real deal
*I had pneumonia, so who knows, maybe the score could have been higher.

I scored 154 on my diagnostic on 3/23/10. Today I retook this same test and scored 177. It was the June 2008 test. Everything seemed so much easier. It was as if I had read the test the first time without glasses and this time I had a new prescription on. It was so clear what all of the answers were going to be before I even read the question. And the games were cake LG -0. On the diag I got LG -16. So this is a great feeling. It's exciting to see all the work pay off.

My three friends diagnosed at 161, 163, and 165. Only one of them (165) actually took the test, and after private tutoring and a kaplan course, she got the same score....

I went from a 157 to a 174 and my roommate went from a 155 to a 173. 17 and 18 points increased respectively. We both took TestMasters, though not at the same time.

Nice increase...and no offense, I'm sure you've worked really hard, but retaking the same test after (I assume) reviewing all the answers isn't really something I would put too much weight on. I took the LSAT three times and studying for retakes are tough because you definitely remember what some answers are just by reading the stimulus, thus confounding your true score. I really hope I'm wrong...but you know, just be careful. Good luck on test day!!

19 points here. And the score I got was on the LOW end of my diag range from the month leading up to the real thing.

I took the lsat 3 times. First in Oct. 2008 and got a 156, hadn't really studied, was playing college soccer and was carrying a double major. Then I re-took in Sept. 2009 and got a 164. That wasn't good enough for me, so I took it again in Dec. 2009 and got a 169. I did a crap load of practice exams. One every other day!!!

No limit for improvement unless something is wrong with test taker. The Average LSAT score is 150 and 29-30 points improvement is certainly possible so 150+29 or 30 = Bingo!!!

1st PT: 141
September LSAT: 151
December LSAT: 162
During the September test a university tour group barged into the lecture hall where I was testing. It broke my concentration and it all went downhill from there so the number is a little skewed.

My impression was that 141 had a lot of awful things go into it, though, so take that with a grain of salt.
154 initial diag, 180 highest real score here. That's 26 points of improvement. The upper end of what I've seen from my students is around that: 25 points, give or take.

we'll see what happens on the actual test day but so far I'm up from a 144 to my average being a 172. Satisfied...is an understatement.

First PT: 144
Highest LSAT: 168
It's very learnable, you just have to know how to beat it. It took me 9 months to figure it out.

Agree with you completely. Though I didn't review my wrong answers the first time because I hadn't done any prep at that point so it seemed it would be a waste, many questions were familiar. Just wanted to see how it would play out. My highest full 5 section PT not a retake was 173. My highest 4 section PT was 176. But taking that same test over was a real confidence boost, just showing myself how much I understand now.

I went up 12 points from diagnostic to real test although still scored slightly under pt average, but feel this is fairly common. A good friend of mine went up 19 or 20 points though and still scored 4/5 points below their own pt average.

Out of curiosity, did the LSAC flag his second score, or put a hold on the release of his score?
I heard this happens often when there's a VERY dramatic increase.

Also interested, I've got two very mediocre scores and I'm looking to go up around 15 points...what happens in that case?
