Are there any posts or websites that break down PTs by LGB game type, or should I just look at them myself to figure it out? Sorry if this is a basic question that's covered elsewhere, but I couldn't find it in any of the article collections or stickied posts.

Here's my breakdown of PTs by Game Type. My breakdown addresses Grouping in a different way than the LGB, while avoiding all that wacky subcategorization.

Also, the LGB has an appendix that contains what you're looking for if you want to stick with their way.

Because I didn't have access to PTs over the weekend, I moved on to Chapter 4: Grouping Games, even though I haven't mastered the linear and advanced linear games yet. However, I haven't yet begun taking the full grouping games in the LGB, just the drills. Should I hold off on the actual grouping games in LGB and return to sequencing games until I nail those? Now I see that's what PithyPike's guide suggests, and people following this plan seem to concur. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, how far back should I go in PTs? I feel like I've seen people warn against focusing on the very earliest ones because they're less relevant now. I'd like to split up PTs earlier than #30 into game types and extra sections to build 5-section PTs with, but I also don't want to use #1-10 if they're totally useless.

That sounds like a fine idea (to use them, but as fodder/extra practice). I would not "focus" on them, but it doesn't hurt to stretch your brain - as there's always some twist in every LSAT, and if you can deal with the misc. games of early tests, it can't hurt you.

You have plenty of time before the next LSAT. You can afford to spend at least another week on sequencing, linear, and advanced linear games before spending more time on grouping games. At least one game with a sequencing/linear component is almost certain to show up on Test Day.

I wouldn't do the games from earlier tests until you're totally comfortable with the more common game types, but they aren't useless. They're pretty fun after you've been doing basically the same games over and over for months, and it can boost your confidence to know that you can handle obscure games that don't really fit the LGB method. (Also the back of the LGB lists all the game types, so you can skip the weird ones on the older tests if you want.)

And since you have so much time, definitely work on each game type until you've mastered it. That or just stop studying for a few months, or take it in February.

solid plan. i have yet to take it, so not the best judge, but the jist of most plans seems to be "read the ligic games bible, learn and practice each game type to you have it down; then for the other 2 sections, just practice, analyze/review, and practice some more.

My LG plan is a 4 weeker. Week 1 is to read the entire bible, get the basic concepts down, and diagram and note take each and every question type. Week 2 I will reread the bible, while doing an untimed practice section from a test. Week 3, Im focusong on the individual types of problems, and completing the proper sections of the lsat mastery book. Week 4 I am doing 3 timed lg sections in row from various tests.

I have heard doing them in mass bulk is a great way to build endurance. When youre used to focusing on doing 18-20 logic games at a time, 5 will seem like a piece of cake.

Great tips. The only part I would disagree with is doing full sections untimed. To me, timing and the LSAT questions are inextricable from one another. Practicing untimed just creates bad habits. /Just my opinion

The wiki link, from what I observed clicking on 4-5 different tests, is pretty useless. I found explanations for 0% of the tests I had done recently, legit--0% of the questions answered on 0% of the tests i took lol.

the manhattan lsat board is a different story.

I've been stuck around 162 for the longest time, but for the PT 56 and 57, I scored 166 and 167. I can finally make 170 my goal! Yay!

This is great advice. As with anything really, the key to mastery is repetition. I found that following Pithypike's advice to complete all logic games three times extremely helpful in increasing my LG score.
