I do a page at a time. Or, when we do the test and have booklets, I'll do two pages at a time.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote: For LR, do ny of you guys bubble your answers after you've finished the section? I've kinda started bouncing around a bit more, but I've mis bubbled several times :/.
It's weird, but I see bubbling as my tiny little mental break of 5 seconds every page.

I've misbubbled once and hopefully will never do it again. Although I may pay the extra $25 or whatever to have them hand grade my sheet just because I'm neurotic and am worried about not fully bubbling a bubble.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:No, on tests that I do well on, I use the break to kinda calm myself down/refocus also.mist4bison wrote:I do a page at a time. I'm super careless (which bodes well for my legal career, I'm sure) so I need to really focus on focusing :/
And don't worry, attorneys are able to be careless. That's why they have paralegals/legal assistants to fix their dumb mistakes. To reiterate what I once overheard one attorney saying to another "Their purpose is to make your life easier." (Obviously feeling a little bitter about my job atm).

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
It's definitely not the worst. I taught before working at a firm and it just solidified for me that law school was the right choice. All of our paralegals have to have Bachelor degrees, but no certificate. I don't see the need of a certificate, honestly. Anyone with a brain can learn to do this stuff.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:
Yeah, I worked as an assistant for a while... It was not pleasant. The workload for the paralegals I worked with was a much as the attorneys. Honestly, I really wondered why anyone would even become a paralegal. Especially now with many firms requiring certifications. Just go get a law degree at Local Regional TTT school of law.
One of the paralegals I worked with was older, and made it sound like back in the day being a paralegal was pretty ritzy (she worked on the Toyota Prius gas pedal case).
Granted, it's just one firm, so unrealistic experience n stuff.
ETA: FWIW they send you a scan of your answer sheet, so you can see if there are errors.
But I definitely couldn't do this forever. I'm with you there. No idea how people do that.

Rock on brutha. Definitely if it doesn't work out or you want to leave obviously don't just decide to blog for above the law about "Why I Left Big Law: The Saga.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:Despite the mania on this site, I'm still one of those weird "there's value in a law degree beyond just getting a job" people. Basically planning for big law, but looking to leverage my experiences degree into other areas if possible.scalawag wrote: As I've had this revelation I think people on this site get so caught up in big law and it really is not good to bank on a big law job in this economy. If you are creative however you can make a good honest living and that is the American dream.
You are definitely onto something with the intrinsic value of a J.D. The knowledge itself is so powerful, with great power comes great responsibility.
But with the license, there is a certain decorum expected of me. I had some good years, much as I hate to say it I have to start focusing now on being an individual that will pass the bar, and act in a manner that will reflect well upon the profession in all of my affairs.

The fact that I already have 65k in student loans for a useless degree is my greatest motivation to study. If I don't get a good admissions outcome, I'll probably be poor for the rest of my life.
ETA for anyone who knows about this stuff:
What's the minimum admissions outcome that would give me a good chance at reaching zero net worth while I'm still in my twenties? Maybe full tuition at a T20?

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Hi TLS,
I start my new job on September 28. I will be moving from LA to the bay area. On my last 3 PTs, I scored 169,168,170. How do you think moving and starting a new job a few days before the LSAT will affect my performance?
Thanks.
PS, I also forgot to register for October LSAT by the deadline so now I have to pay ~$300 for it

Just a guess, but I would say a good scholarship at a t14. Check out some schools LRAP programs.RZ5646 wrote:The fact that I already have 65k in student loans for a useless degree is my greatest motivation to study. Yeah I'm praying I can snag a full tuition scholly from a lower T14. I've been searching MyLSN and it looks like I might have a good shot at that, but scholarships are kinda a black box so I'm nervous. The Abyss wrote:Just a guess, but I would say a good scholarship at a t14.
