Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
I'd hope to get reading comp out of the way first or second. My biggest fear is having an experimental RC and agonizing over which one was real....especially if I fail to finish one of them.
My impression of reading comp is that the more recent ones are way denser. Do you guys think it is worth prepping with PT 50s and 60s RCs so close to the real thing?

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
just finished doing first 3 section of pt-26.
lg felt ok and i was able to finish with 1-2 min remaining
lr1: this was my 1st lr question in the last 1 month. i had marked 2 questions to come back to for review, but i bubbled the last q as the time was being called. so likely i got -3 or worse in this section.
lr2: there were a couple of tough ones toward the end that i didn't feel confident about. finished right when the time was being called. feel that i could have gone perfect in this section.
will spend the rest of the day doing BR.
Edit:
scored the sections
lg -0
lr1 -3 (likely the ones i needed more time on)
lr2 -0
skipping rc for now

not sure if that impression is true. 60s RC is just as tough as current one. and some of the late 50s rc is just as hard.etramak wrote:I'd hope to get reading comp out of the way first or second. I'm so discouraged y'all. My last three PT's have all been low 160's, but everything a couple weeks ago was > 167.
And we're only two weeks away.
My significant other keeps saying that it's awesome that I'm scoring better than like 90% of people taking the LSAT - i don't think they get that it's STILL NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

Almost ran out of time on the LG section. Tried to brute force my way through a couple of questions. I think I'm going to take 3 PT's a week up until the 6th. Trying to decide whether to take that last weekend off.

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
So here we are two weeks out...
Here's where I'm at:
Averaging 164 (with no more than 2 lucky guesses) and I have done almost every PT.
LR: -4 to -5 (each section)
RC: -6 to -7 (kicking my ass)
LG: -2 to -4
I have 76 and 77 saved for this/next week, but other than that I've done PTs 40+. My question is: retake recent tests or dip into older ones? I'm not worried about 'building my confidence' just want to get the best practice and still have an opportunity to increase my score.
Current plan is to spend the next two days drilling RC and getting to the point where I can be more confident with finishing all the questions and getting down to -4 on average, before taking another PT. I would love any advice/tips for improvement two weeks out.
Before the December test, I remember getting a bit flustered and my last two weeks weren't as productive as they could've been, so I want to be sure to keep progressing up until I just relax a couple days before the test.
Hope everyone is feeling better than me right now lol

Retakers: anything you wish you would have done differently leading up to the test? Or any mistakes you made on test-day that you wish you didn't make? Although I enjoy studying for this test, I really would like to take this test once. I'll probably have to retake, as most ppl need several takes to reach/surpass their goal score, but boy would I love a free summer. I haven't had one of those in a really long time.

Not sure if you mean this sarcastically, but this is terrible advice--it's more apt to make you groggy if you screw up your sleep schedule so close to the test.proteinshake wrote:wake up at 5AM on the day before the test so I can fall asleep early.StopLawying wrote:Retakers: anything you wish you would have done differently leading up to the test? Just take it easy. I kind of came to terms with retaking about two weeks before Dec 15. Helped take the pressure off on the day of the test, because I knew the worst thing that could happen was something I was already planning for. I actually ended up performing relatively well, and I think a lot of that had to do with being just hopped up on adrenaline enough to really focus, but not too much so nervous as to completely freeze.

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
I woke up early, walked my dog, and did my warm up problems about 2 hours before my test. Then, (hour before being at test center) I met my boyfriend for coffee and a small breakfast right before the test and within walking distance to test center (so I wasn't worrying about time). I thought that talking to someone after my warm up helped me relax a bit and not think about the problems I was just doing, since they didn't matter at that point. Right before my test, I did read over a single RC passage in my car (did not do any questions) just for a last minute brain wake up. Listened to a couple pump up songs and went in.StopLawying wrote:Retakers: anything you wish you would have done differently leading up to the test? Overall I felt super relaxed and ready for the test (obviously I'm retaking because I did not get a score I wanted), but overall I felt that I performed pretty well and how I expected I would.

let me rephrase: gradually alter your sleep schedule by waking up a little bit earlier each day so you can comfortably wake up at 5AM the day before (and the the day of?) the test.*forum_user wrote:Not sure if you mean this sarcastically, but this is terrible advice--it's more apt to make you groggy if you screw up your sleep schedule so close to the test.proteinshake wrote:wake up at 5AM on the day before the test so I can fall asleep early.StopLawying wrote:Retakers: anything you wish you would have done differently leading up to the test? but oh crap I completely forgot the June test is at 12 so maybe change the time to whatever works best for you (I'm a September taker)
my point is that you should be waking up everyday at the time you plan on waking up on test day. I guess it's not as big a deal since it's not at 8.

I just took PT70 as well and went:
LR1: -2
RC: -6
LG: -1
LR2: -6
Overall -15 for a 167. Didn't really feel that I bombed RC and LR2 for a -12 total which I hadn't done in a long time. Still came around my average score of 167.
Anyways, you're a beast and I don't know how the hell you did that.

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
Ah, okay, yeah this makes much more sense--it's actually exactly what I did for December. I got into the habit of going to bed early and waking up at like 5/6am every day so by the actual day of the test it was no big deal. For June though this is much less relevant.proteinshake wrote: let me rephrase: gradually alter your sleep schedule by waking up a little bit earlier each day so you can comfortably wake up at 5AM the day before (and the the day of?) the test.*

Fuck NY.
Oh dang. Yep, NY does have its street pretzels. They're pretty shitty IMO. Suburban mall pretzels have them beat.
You don't hear too many people choose Boston over NY. Well, at least people living in New York. Boston ain't half bad though, especially in the summer.
I had an ex-bf who lived in Boston, so I visited him about 6 times a year for two years, and I loved it. Very pretty.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
