Depending on which PTs you are looking for, the "Next 10" books are probably the cheapest (about $2 per PT). Amazon sells "used' copies as well.warandpeace wrote:anyone know the absolute cheapest way to get PTs? Anyone have deals? I heard Amazon does a 3 for something deal...?

I will Pm u the explanation for that once i am trough w my test today.

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
This is a good example of how a simple argument can get convoluted. I think the difficulty lies in knowing what Winslow's idea is + what the case is for commentator.weathercoins wrote:If anybody has PT 51 still out, mind explaining LR2 (Section 3) #12 to me? Winslow is saying newspapers just print stuff that seems daring, rather than they have some sort of inherent anti-environmentalist bias.
The commentator is saying anti-environmentalism, while it seems to challenge the orthodoxy, is really attacking an unorthodox view (interpreted from "hardly orthodox").
So essentially what Winslow is saying is the case.
A) We can infer this
B) Seems to contradict "may have succeeded in promoting themselves as renegades"
C) Quite the opposite of this
D) First issue I had was critics of environmentalism doesn't necessarily = the newspaper. This is a close contender, but prevailing is a bit too strong for MSS questions. We don't know if the prevailing political view is anti-environmentalism, just that environmentalism isn't considered orthodox.
E) Ballsy prediction, unsupported.

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Depends on the question stem, IMO.
In a MSS question, I usually do a first round of eliminations, then go back to the stimulus and pick holes in the remaining contenders. I did this question about 3 weeks ago, and I remember I auto-eliminated B, C and E, then narrowed it down to A and D. I personally saw it as justifying either A or D, A required me to extrapolate Winslows view (easy) and the commentators (convoluted). I needed both to be able to conclude A was supported.

PT 21.5 (Feb 97) --
Can someone go over number 20 on section 3? Why exactly is E incorrect? Thanks

Thanks for the responses, guys. I was split between A and D-- and I guess A is correct, but the extra information in the stimulus was just unusual.

Hi, just adding myself to the group. Got my Feb score back today and it wasn't exactly what I had hoped for so...retake in June.
Going to go wallow in misery for the night then back to studying tomorrow.
I did all my previous studying by myself, so maybe, hopefully, joining a group will help.

That passage literally drove me crazy. I had to stop taking the test and calm down because it was frustrating me so much.griffin.811 wrote:This was the worst! The "!" before Kung threw me off everytime I read the word!objection_your_honor wrote:Talk about the !Kung.

Her bobos are on par with the girl from the LSAT YouTube videos, as long as she doesn't bust out the Kaplan references I should be fine though.rebexness wrote:Try to make LR questions based off of the dumb shit she will inevitably say.deputydog wrote:I was going to PT but just got asked to happy hour by this good looking girl, I should bail on the test right?

Welcome! Retaking and getting the same score is possible the worst feeling ever. There lots of options for a nice gap year. Consider Americorps or something (or if you have two years, TFA is a really good call).Holynorth wrote:Well, officially joining this thread since I failed the February retake by getting the exact same score I got in December.
The only reason I'm upset is that I have a major in philosophy and a minor in business. I have no idea what I'm going to do during my year off this cycle. I was an idiot to take a liberal arts major.

Re: JUNE 2013 Study Group / Study Partner Thread
Alright, just found out my score (162) on the Feb test. I studied for a couple of months but also worked 35-40 hours a week while being in class. Until Christmas I was taking a full load with my senior thesis and several other heavy classes, so I didn't really pick up the intensity until around Christmas time.
Should I begin to study intensely for the next three months for the June exam? I am only taking two upper-level elective classes and am having surgery tomorrow which will keep me out of work for 3 weeks minimum.
I'm just wondering that if I really want to BEAST this LSAT, will this 3 month period of time be enough time to focus on it. I will be working full time from April until test time in a busy, upscale restaurant

Feb taker here and looks like I'm joining you guys. After PTing around the low 170s, ended up with a 159. That 159 is gonna fuel my fire and I'm gonna work my ass off for a 170+ in June. Taking this next week off, then I'll be back to LSAT studying with you wonderful people!
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
