Law is a career change for me. I used to be a software engineer.
Currently working at a law firm -- I find it super interesting and fun. I suppose there are a lot of vocal people out there who hate their career choice and get bored.

It's undoubtedly more boring and tedious than television makes it out to be. You really have to love doing research and writing (especially if you want lit like me).
I'm not expecting it to be a blast, but I feel like I would enjoy it as a profession and would match my skill-set. It definitely depends upon how interesting your cases are, I expect.

Bottom line: interesting? Yes. Fun? Unlikely.
Okay, thats pretty much what I figured. Of course I expect it to be interesting in an academic sense (obviously you shouldn't go into it if you aren't interested in it). I guess I was thinking about it in terms of what the layperson describes as interesting and "reading legal documents and writing up paperwork" usually does not fall under that.

So you were the other engineer from the poll? And by other I mean only one because it was taken down before I could vote.

Though now adcoms know your date of birth, so watch what you say. Wouldn't be hard to link your profile to IRL identity.

I don't remember if I submit an answer on poll here or another thread. Let's say, yes.
I've had my share of boring desk jobs, but they were boring because the field of work wasn't for me.

One thing I've learned working at a law firm though, is that there are so many different ways to be an attorney. You aren't destined to doing just legal research, or negotiating with clients, or writing contracts, or whatever else unless that's what you want your thing to be (eventually).

Of course, when you start out (like all other careers) there will most likely be things you don't enjoy doing that you're required to do.

Maybe I'll start studying there because they have a giant seating area upstairs so you can eat the food you buy
I've seriously considered this more than once. Also Wegmans > Publix
