Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
took the september LSAT and after having a complete blackout and freaking out session at the exam and guessing on 2 full games and a LOT of the LR..i'm back at the LSATs today.
took the last week to unwind, catch up with friends. excited to see my progress for the december LSAT.
took PT 52 (as 4 section exam under timed conditions today)
LR: -2 (finished first LR with 10 mins and the second with 14mins/ so finished LR under 24 mins)
RC: -1 (finished with about 14 mins to go)
LG: -6 (took all 35 mins)
Scaled Score: 171/172
i'm pleased with my LR and RC. But i really need to get my LG shit together. i'm taking PT 53 on thursday. so i plan to look over this exam tomorrow and spend the next two days drilling LG and doing timed sections of LR and RC from older exams to keep me fresh and in the zone.
my current schedule will allow me to take PTs 52-73 as full length PTs. PTs 39-51 as timed sections spread out through the next 60 days. and I am following the 8 week Odyssey LG course as well. hope I can break a 170 on december 6th!

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
congrats on the progress! no one should laugh for that LSAT score. with 2 more months to go you have set yourself up to do great on the december lsat.nlee10 wrote:My thoughts on PT 46.
Working my way up. No BR on this one, but will do still review it.
Got a 154 with a tight -9 curve out of 99 questions.
RC: 17/27 (Better than my -16 last week)
LR1: 20/25 (Really surprised by this!)
LR2: 15/26 (Could tell it was a harder section than LR1)
LG: 15/22 (was a bit slow on time so had to guess most of last game, subcommittee game anyone??)
Raw 67
If I score the same raw points on a modern test, the scaled score would be around 156-157.
Laugh all you want at my mediocre score, but nonetheless, I am happy with this upward trend in progress. My first week in BP class may have helped a bit on LR (was 8/10 on MBT's which is what we covered so possibly?)

Re: The Official December 2014 Study Group
i think it was all about knowing to ignore the irrelevant detail in the passages. i drilled with the Cambridge packets to get a feel of what kind of keywords and shifts and ideas i should be on the look out for. for anyone looking for tips, my very very very brief advice would be: 1) find main point in each passage 2)circle every single transition and UNDERSTAND what the transition it 3)differentiate between author's thoughts and thoughts he attributes to other people 4)if attributing to other people, know that shit. circle it or whatever so you can refer. 5)pay attention to the last few sentences of the whole passage and see how that plays into it. 6)after reading, take a PAUSE before going onto the questions. make a mental map of the passage. no need to understand detail BUT just know how it is presented and feel confident about going to a certain section.Dirigo wrote:Insanely awesome!
