I ordered it a week or two ago and they automatically send it with a quick delivery service. I think it was like 5 business days between ordering and receiving it. Maybe 6. Their site is a bit janky but they were very quick with it. I imagine as it gets closer to the test they may run out, they did before the December 15 test.proteinshake wrote:did you buy it off their website? if so, when? It's pretty snazzy, probably overly so, but whatever. It's nice that it resets itself automatically to 35 and counts exactly down to the second.

It's honestly so easy to use a regular watch and reset it after each section. I set my watch to 12:00 for the first section and I have more than enough time to pull the little pin and set it back to 12:00 before the next section begins.TheMikey wrote:Are any of you guys going to be using an LSAT wristwatch on test day? Anyone else take PT 68 recently? I took it and it was lefitimately the hardest test I've taken yet.
I went -6, -9, -4, -2 for a scaled score of 164. First RC fucked me up (game 4, with the water bill discrepencies, the other three games were about par for the course for me), then LR FUCKED me up. And I haven't gone -4 in Games in forever (it was that stupid maintenence company game with loosely defined terms).
I'm mad as fuck right now trying to reviews my answers.

On another note, just finished June 2007 PT just to see how far I've come since my cold diagnostic of 151.
LG -4
LR1 -3
LR2 -3 1 bubbling error here :\
RC -3
Overall a -13 for a 166.
Felt a lot more confident while taking it and thought I was going 169+ so Im not too happy.
LG is obviously keeping me out of the 170s. I get way too nervous about how long a game should take and end up rushing into the questions without splitting the possible game boards and make a bunch of careless mistakes.

I thought LG(that last game) and RC were both really difficult, LR on the other hand was really easy, especially the second section. I screwed up games badly, so I scored lower on this test than my PT average.HennessyVSOP wrote:Anyone else take PT 68 recently? I took it and it was lefitimately the hardest test I've taken yet.

It definitely was. And that last game was insane- the 7sage explanation for that one is 31 minutes.HennessyVSOP wrote:different strokes I guessStopLawying wrote:I thought LG(that last game) and RC were both really difficult, LR on the other hand was really easy, especially the second section. Anyone know if beta-blockers are allowed to be used for the LSAT? I can get a prescription from a doctor.
And if yes, do you guys think it'll help or be more of a hindrance? I've read different things.

i have had anxiety issues with lsat and read that BBs have helped many get thru this test. so I got a prescription for it and tried it, but it slowed me down too much. Re other drugs there is a lot of debate. many very high scorers say that adderall, ritalin etc helped them but there are also others who are totally against it

I don't have anxiety issues but tried BB's in my undergrad. TBH I think that familiarity and confidence is far better than perscription drugs. I'm a classical musician, and I for one found BB's inhibited my ability to think quickly and respond well to pressure...Just take some deep breaths and leave the pills at home.

Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
Finished up BR after work and am very pleased with how things are trending.
PT69
168/178
LR -5/-1
LG -3/-0 (tough game 4)
RC -3/-1
LR -3/-1
Most of my LR mistakes were due to misreading/glossing over key words, which tells me that I need to pay better attention to modifiers. RC felt damn good after I practiced slowly over the weekend. LG felt awful since I have neglected to drill. That's what I get for being overly confident.
Still haven't hit 170, but its so close I can smell it!!!!

Yea dude took it the other day. I ended up -3 on LG...it was a tough section. I did well on RC but I chalk that up to having an econ minor in undergrad and an MBA with a focus in econ so the Pin Factory Econ RC section that was supposed to be the "tough" passage was cake for me. Next time, when it's latina feminist literature on the !Kung's anthropological dinosaur connection, I'll probably shit the bed.HennessyVSOP wrote:Anyone else take PT 68 recently? Although my admissions ticket photo is fine (I assume), LSAC's photo requirements emails scare me lmao.

Idk anything about how one takes those, but if you dose yourself before you arrive at the test center it would be impossible for the LSAC to know you've taken anything. There's absolutely nothing they can do about someone who, for example, pops an Adderall before checking in—not that I'm doing that.StopLawying wrote:Anyone know if beta-blockers are allowed to be used for the LSAT? Re: The Official June 2016 Study Group
Actually tbh I was able to see why it was C almost as soon as I saw it was C, but was raging after missing other difficult Qs in the packet, so I came here to find solace in the knowledge and experience of you June-lsaters.forum_user wrote:I always thought the joint-stimulus questions were really great, especially when one question was strengthen and the other was weaken. Really made you think about the argument from both sides. Though I always thought those questions made the section as a whole easier/less time-consuming, because you're working with fewer total stimuli.MAPP wrote:The joint-stimuluses are part of it. But take for example PT 14, S4, Q13.forum_user wrote:Assuming you mean aside from the joint-stimulus questions or the dated references (i.e. "electronic mail" or defining what the internet is lol)MAPP wrote:September taker with a question for you study pros:
I'm drilling LR using the cambridge packets (so old PTs) and some of the questions just seem so odd (don't seem like more recent LR questions), and they tend to be the ones I get wrong. I'm thinking it may not be worth thoroughly analyzing those questions since they are unlike the ones I will see when I take full PTs and take the actual lsat (I don't mean all early LR Qs, just some).
Basically my question boils down to this: did you notice that some LR in earlier PTs (I'm talking PTs 2-15) were significantly different than more recent PTs? Or am I crazy?
It's been so long since I've worked with the early PTs, could you give an example of something that's tripped you up? It is possible that the style's changed--LSAC's essentially had two decades since the early PTs to refine their questions. Or, it could also be that your fundamentals aren't quite there, so when you come across a question that seems odd you get stuck. I'm intrigued though!
14.4.13 is definitely a weird question--like a hybrid role-assumption question. I think in the old days they were more willing to combine question types like that. Maybe that technique will make a comeback. To answer your question, though, I bet you don't need to worry too much about analyzing those misses if you get them wrong.
For fun though (this is a study group after all)
Argument is that addiction does not require both dependence and abuse; evidence is that morphine users are dependent without abusing, and other abusers aren't dependent on their substances. The assumption of both of these pieces of evidence--which links them to the conclusion that dependence and abuse are not both required for addiction--is that the users/abusers are both addicted. And there's your answer.

that g4 is brutal. it doesn't have any good inferences up front and so you are pretty much left to brute force. iirc it took me 15+ min the first time to do it and it may take still that long today.ponderingmeerkat wrote:Yea dude took it the other day.
