Congrats! Seeing 173 feels so good.Dexter97 wrote:I FINALLY BROKE MY PT HIGH!!!! 173 on PT 61!!!!!![]()
This is such a relief. My previous high was a 172 but my last 5 PTS were all 167-169. Looking back at the previous five though, I realized I took them all after ten hour shifts at work in the evening. Getting a solid nine hours of sleep and tackling the test in the morning does wonders.

Took PT 58 this morning as a 6 section test.
Score: 171
LR1: -5
RC: -4
LG: -0
LR2: -1
Pretty happy with the score, but not where I want to be. Blind review tomorrow.

Unless you mean by 6 section that you do a writing sample with it. In which case I'd still ask what the point is lol
Lol @ practicing the writing sample. Do people do that?

Took PT 47 today, and finally finally broke 170.
LR1: -0
RC: -1
LR: -3
LG: -1
Scaled Score: 175
After 3 weeks of bouncing between 164-169, I'm keeping my fingers crossed this wasn't a fluke.

I went for months at around 166-169. Then I put in serious prep, broke 170, and have a string of six straight 170+ scores.
Hopefully that's you too.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
Sufficient necessary statements are essentially boolean logic and that train of thought can be channelled over the foundations you have built in powerscore.
Obviously in Powerscore you account for everything and there might be that one in out grouping game where you need to know the contrapositives "and" "or" operands but it really is just that. Just basic boolean logic.
The trick is to go through the section in LGB where you write out all possible "sufficient necessary" statements, memorize all contrapositives to a visual level, and associate powerscore double arrow symbols (there is the obscure third review the documentation).
I'm drunk I hope I'm not saying something common sense to people.

I finally broke 170 with a 173 and took another test last night and got 171. Hopefully it stays! Plan on taking 62-71 this week.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
have been drilling LR and did LR of 65 and 32 today.
65 lr1 -2 (19, 25)
65 lr2 -0
32 lr1 -1 (15)
32 lr2 -3 (8, 18, 20)!!
first pass through the section: 33:00, 33:00, 29:45, 32:00 respectively.
32 lr in some questions uses much different logic than the recent LR, those were the ones that mostly got me. still need work to be close to my target time of 26-28 min for the first pass through questions.

Re: The Official October 2015 Study Group
nice guys! I hope y'all all get the scores that you want! My biggest problem was that I was making assumptions for MBT/MSS questions, and I think the score jump was because of that. I finally sat down to read the Manhattan chapter on inferences yesterday, and everything made more sense. The Abyss wrote:My last five have been 173, 170, 170, 172, 171. (assclown - I typed this on my phone after my catnap because lawyers drink and get shit done wake up and get shit done and I'm practicing for law school and the typos I won't correct)
Look the slash over the conditional statement (not)- that's false no slash is true. A boolean is a true false value so you break down conditional statements into all logical possibilities
You have x possibilities (contrapositive in brackets)
T T (F F)
T F (F T) - Double Not Arrow
F T (T F) - Double Not Arrow
F F (T T)
So make flash cards or whatever (with statements - the arrow - not true false)
Look the double arrow and the one they mention in passing will be based off these four logical possibilities it's more in the statements that will be built off of these logical parameters.
Also the and or operatives you have to know these but they are based off of these possibilities and I know from drilling you won't get it as good as if you write out flashcards for logical possibilities with the format A -> B. This will help a ton with having the core so good when they throw insane sufficient necessary at you you are ready.
Trust me I have been writing shitty PHP. I'm not going through the book because everyone here has done that and can review if they need to and at worst this post is condescending because a lot of people know this shit already, apparently except for The Abyss who drinks starbucks coffee every day and convinces himself he is getting stuff done when he spends hours and accomplishes little.

ETA: Hey, if you had a personal revelation in your LSAT prep, good. That's awesome. I intended no ill will. The gif I posted was more a response to the randomness of your post, not the content. I thought maybe you intended to quote someone because it seemed like you were maybe giving advice to someone.
I do understand conditional logic, and I am scoring above 170 consistently. Good luck in your prep.

Edited because the possible combinations of boolean logic are commonly taught by the 7Sage course.

What is troubling you in LR?scalawag wrote:It's a minor segment of the test, but really to hone/acquire it that is exactly what you would have to do in a logical sense to where you were set for the most fucked up in out grouping game (even if you haven't been drilling in out lately).
The post was intended for those of us who have worked out of the powerscore logic games bible. I didn't spell it out because I assumed whoever read it would go back to the bible and read the material again, and build that foundation to where you had all the tricks that rest or do jumping jacks on the foundation.
If anyone has any advice on LR I'm all ears, and yea if you're scoring 170 I'm not gonna say shit.

yeah, the test center had large lecture style seating and was an excellent center in terms of careful proctors and noise. the hassle and anxiety of a long distance test center is more acute as the one nearby couldn't be beat.Mint-Berry_Crunch wrote:
They shut down all of them? That's really unfortunate :/.
Mine are all full around me, I'm hoping maybe they'll throw in more spots like they did for June.
no idea why lsac closed down all centers in this major metropolitan region. i'm sure it's a big hassle for hundreds of test takers in this area.
