That was me yesterday. Could not motivate myself to get out of bed to PT. I did make myself finish the new Manhattan RC book (love it) and today I feel pretty good. Except its gorgeous out and I'd rather be outside than in a library. At least the view is good?WaltGrace83 wrote:gah! I'm taking today off. PT58
LR1: -2
RC: -3
LG: -0
LR2: -3 Can't believe I got #3 wrong!
Overall: 172
The caveat here is that I took this exam back in 2013 as a PT, so at some points I'd vaguely recall the subject matter of the questions. Still, it's the highest PT score I've ever gotten, and I'd say that if I didn't learn anything since I took it in 2012, the result would've been similar (168).
I felt pretty good during LR this time around. Kept a brisk pace throughout, finished with a few minutes to go in each section.
LG I didn't feel good about, but somehow I forced the correct answers in game 4.
RC felt okay too, but the copyright passage (3) tripped me up big time. Got a -2 on it which was not as bad as I thought.
The biggest lesson I learned in this exam is that when an LR question trips me up...look for the DETAIL CREEPS.
I don't usually review RC and LG extensively, but this time around I think I should. Happy studying!

Raise your hand if you waited until today to sign up for the June LSAT because you were secretly hoping NU would admit you without you having to retake?

I got 8 games to do according to my schedule for today...
I'm also going to try to go through every game in 10 NEW Actual, Official LSAT Preptests 52-61 by the end of today...that may not be reasonable... so at least finish by tomorrow

Do you think I should be saving them?
I honestly don't think I'll get to them with the schedule I'm following now.

What do you think the odds are that you retake? If you end up doing Sept- having completely fresh tests is going to be helpful. 52-61 does contain some of the most difficult games, so there is that to consider as well.louierodriguez wrote:

If you have that kind of attitude then you should postpone, man! Don't go into thinking "well I'll just knock this out and plan on retaking." If you think that way then you aren't 100% ready and if you aren't 100% ready then you shouldn't be taking that test! We all believe in you but - let' face it - it sounds like your plateauing. You need to really assess what is going on and what your weaknesses are.

You really DON'T have to though.louierodriguez wrote:I have to take in June. I must.

If you aren't confident, DO NOT TAKE THE TEST.
Save your retakes.

My dad is literally counting down the days until the test because that's when I start working.
He counts more as a joke... but I know I need to start working.
I'm pretty sure I'll be ready by June 9th.
I'm going to be in overdrive until then.

I'm applying to Miami... they have rolling admissions... so I could potentially start law school this year
My application is like 90 percent complete.

^ They would probably give you close to nothing in scholarship money as they probably wouldn't have anything to give. You NEED scholarship money (unless you have a rich uncle or something). Going to anything outside of about the T20 (and even then...) for sticker would be insane.
My parents and my brother (an attorney) don't understand me at all. My response? "Well unless you are going to be paying for my education I will maximize my chances of getting $$$, thank you."
Law school is a dangerous game that doesn't work out for MANY people. Just remember that. You really should postpone.

One of my friends keeps saying she can't wait until I'm done with this test. Little does she know that after the test comes writing essays, then doing Apps, then waiting around and freaking out.louierodriguez wrote:My dad is literally counting down the days until the test because that's when I start working.

My parents took me out to dinner to celebrate after last year's Oct test. I didn't have the guts to tell them I had withdrawn the night before lol.WaltGrace83 wrote:My girlfriend said that she can't wait for June 9th.....rebexness wrote:One of my friends keeps saying she can't wait until I'm done with this test. Thats not gonna be a fun convo... I blame this test (at least partially) on breaking me and my long-term gf up (not necessarily a bad thing though)WaltGrace83 wrote:My girlfriend said that she can't wait for June 9th.....rebexness wrote:One of my friends keeps saying she can't wait until I'm done with this test. Re: The Official June 2014 Study Group
These stories are hilarious!
I am not crazy with studying, usually 4 hours a day and sometimes a bit more depending on the mood I am in. I would study ALL day but my brain literally could not take that. So yea, it is definitely really tough to tell everyone I'm postponing. Sure, I could take the June test and get a decent score but, as I've said, I'm not going for mid-high 160s. I want to be safely in the 170s!
Unfortunately, I am much more forward thinking than the people close to me whom this test has ruined
EDIT: you know, its a shame. I come to TLS to vent my girl problems not because I legitimately feel like my relationship is in jeopardy from this test but because you guys are the only ones who truly understand. Even my attorney brother doesn't get it (TTT
). So its really nice to be able to vent my frustrations without having people tell me "dude, stop studying. You're gonna do finnnnnnnnne." The reason why I said its a shame is because it used to be a GOOD THING to care so much about your future. I thought we were supposed to be one of those "driven" or "motivated" people that others look up to. Now I feel like our society (not to preach or anything...) loves mediocrity.
F*** that.
haha yea well.....right now she thinks its just a "possibility." My family and my friends seriously hate me right now. I graduated in December and I don't start work until July so it has basically been me and the LSAT for all this time. I only see people once - MAYBE twice - a week and only for a few hours at a time. My friends want to know where I've been, my girlfriend thinks I am putting the LSAT above her, my family is about ready to call an intervention.politibro44 wrote: And to think how long we've known...
