Any of y'all who haven't applied yet planning on doing visits before applications / decisions?

I'll probably check out Columbia, NYU, and Chicago because they're in cities I want to visit anyways.

Yeah I'm thinking NYU and CLS shouldn't be hard. Also want to visit UVA if I can. Debating trying to do Penn at the same time as NYC schools / Duke at the same time as UVA. Also debating whether or not I should try to visit Chi. I don't think they're really known for YP but if it makes them like me more it might be worth it.

Ohhhh you were thinking about YP, not just about making sure you like the location and vibez and what not.

I mean I'll def visit my main contenders before making a final decision, as well.

Also I feel you on cost / feasibility; why I'm trying to cut it down / combine things as much as possible

CLS/NYU don't really YP but they do weird shit sometimes and are my <3 schools. Also easy to visit because NYC.

Yes, I wouldn't go to NYC just to visit law schools. I'd just do that as part of a vacation, haha. I really want to figure out how I truly feel about NYC. There's something about it I don't quite connect with (although I've never been there), but I have nothing against big cities (London is <3). So I'm not really sure what's up with it.

Never been to London so I can't compare but I'd say it has a similar vibe to the downtown areas of large Canadian cities - think Toronto or Montreal (more the latter than the former imo but my experience is limited). Pretty pedestrian friendly (as cities go), a lot of interesting culture/character, and Central Park is gorgeous.

I think I just need to go there and see what the fuss is about, because it does have a lot of characteristics that I, in theory, should love. At least, I hope I'll fall in love with it, because it certainly opens a lot of BL doors, lol.

Lol yeah I'm pretty averse to NYC BL but that's a lot more because of culture, hours, and CoL than NYC.

Oh yeah definitely, but at least if you get stuck there, not hating the city would make it less miserable.

I may pick up one or two night jobs or on the weekend to gross 90-100 hours a week to see what working bl hours with mediocre pay is like. All of this post lsat tho.

And to complete my triple post. The guy or gal not looking for BL. You should still apply if you have the numbers. Those schools allow for great negotiations and open tons of doors that are closed otherwise in every single field. Long term payoff crushes from the t13 and that's why I'm going even though I naively wanted in state law school initially, i am going elsewhere
