Crazy how much the lsat messes with your head. Great minds think alike btw -ended up getting dismissed from this trial due to my awesome bias. Excited to continue the pt crusade (pt45-62).soj wrote:As the author of Passage 1 of PT26 RC said, some people get out of jury duty by claiming to have prejudices they don't have. Not that you should do it, but just sayin'.99.9luft wrote:In the court house. Really don't want to do a week of jury duty instead of lsat prep.
Just took a look at the curves of PT46-56. Dayum, some pretty tough scales in there.
Yes, the scale is brutal, but it is good prep, so that we are psychologically ready on game day.

if anybody has done the S1 of PT 47, i'd love a little help wrapping my head around questions 16 and 22. The other mistakes i made in the LR sections i can wrap my head around, but these two i am having some difficulty. thanks. i'm starting up superprep on wednesday, reading about everyone's difficulty is making me a little nervous haha.

Shitty start to LG drilling:
PT40: -0
PT41: -2 (logic chain = death, game #4 took me 15 mins
)
PT42: -3 (ugh, missed #1, missed two on the last game due to misreads)
My mistakes are careless, need to start locking in and hopefully finish out the 40s strong.

Is that a causal statement or just a correlation? Is it possible that if one doesn't shave your bulldog, one may still not get into YLS?soj wrote:Don't try to shave the bulldog in my avatar. He'll bite your hand off and then tell on you to Asha so you won't get into YLS.

Causation.
Stay away from the dog and you'll be fine.
PT49
LG: -1
LR1: -2
LGe (PT21): -0
RC: -2
LR2: -2
Raw: -7
Scaled: 173
Blech, so close. Lots of misreading mistakes (esp. LR). Did well in RC, but could have done even better. Still happy, though.

Re: June 2011 Study Group
My spreadsheet from my four practice tests this weekend looks ridiculous. I've been averaging around 172 on tests before this weekend so I was expecting to maintain scores in that range. I took pt 35 on Friday and got a 169. I wasn't happy about it because I missed seven on the RC, but I'm using the 10 actual tests book as my experimental sections and I finished pt 12 and got a 176 so I was somewhat reassured. I then got a 180 on pt 36 on Saturday. That came out of nowhere, but I was completely overjoyed at the score. I then took pt 37 on Sunday and pt 38 today and got a 168 and 169 respectively. This is really frustrating because I have those glimpses at what I could potentially score and then I do badly again. I really don't understand why I'm so inconsistent, but it might be some burnout so I'm going to give LSAT a rest until Friday when I will review pt 38 and take pt 43. A couple of pages back you guys were talking about burnout and I agree. We are running a marathon and this is the part where it starts to get rough. This is the time that separates us from those who are not going to score as high and I know that we can fight through it and dominate the dang thing on that beautiful Monday in June.

Yikes... just did RC from PT21, and I got killed
-8, worst I've ever done. I don't know if it was a particularly hard one or if it was from working all day. The first passage was definitely the hardest so that may have tripped me up. Still working on using the Atlas method, so I'll give it another go tomorrow on PT19

Back on the horse with LG from 37 and 38. I'm hoping the -1/-3 will put me in a positive rhythm. LG 30s are tough

Thanks! I took a few days off and feel like I got my second wind. In other news, off to take an undergrad final in a math course below college algebra: math functions. Re: June 2011 Study Group
Wow, I'm going to assume no one remembers me at this point haha, I've been gone so long. Real life interrupted in a very drastic way for the past two weeks. It's over, but now I'm left with five weeks instead of seven, and nothing but 7 PTs under my belt. RC is still a killer (the only section where I sometimes cannot figure why the correct answer is correct -- ex. Roy Lichtenstein in PT 42, q's 11 and 12), LR I still have trouble with Most Strongly Supported and Assumption q's, and in LG I continue to sort of just wing it when it comes to diagramming rather than knowing what to do when I see a particular game type. I really, really hope that 5 weeks is still enough time to get this stuff straight. I'm going to try to do a PT a day with a day off every three or four days... see how that goes.
sdjf. Ok, so today I start fresh. Good luck to all of you!

Yeahh... I had no idea how strong soda is until I actually quit it and then tried it again after 8 months. It gave me an instantaneous migraine! I can't believe I used to drink this stuff like water.soj wrote:Couldn't fall asleep till 5am last night--not because of the loud celebrations outside (those subsided at ~2am), but because of a freaking can of Coke I had with lunch for the first time in months.
I don't get it. Last semester I drank energy drinks to keep myself awake while cramming for exams, but they never seemed to work, even when I drank them for the first time in 5 months. And now, a can of Coke will keep me up three extra hours.![]()
Took a break from LSAT prep yesterday, back at it today.
Btw, is anyone getting into some sort of exercise routine for the LSAT? I basically stopped working out once I quit competitive sports (don't judge, haha), but I really think it would help me mentally focus a lot more if I went back to working out regularly for the next 5 weeks.
