So, how many pages you guess we will reach before the scores are released?

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS (New Poll!!)
For real question...
If you are probably not going to get into a T14, but could get into a T20-T50, would there be a difference in going to one that is T28 v T48? Those were just hypothetical numbers. For instance, George Washington v Tulane with same price? After T14, does it make as much of a difference on employment?

Outside of the T14, you should be looking at region rather than rank. So you want to go to the school that gives you the most money in the area where you want to practice.KAYCEE wrote:For real question...

i.e., don't go to Tulane if you don't want to practice in Louisiana.

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS (New Poll!!)
Hey Santoki -- we seem to be in a pretty similar situation, save for different regions we're targeting. I too my aiming T14 - and if not that, hoping for big money at Minnesota as that's the best regional school for my goals. I think your plan is a good one.santoki wrote:while we are imagining that there exists world aside from the one where you take and retake the LSAT, i have a question for yall.
to be frank my GPA is somewhat low, 3.3. at my best i can see pt74 being a 170, at its lowest maybe a 166. lets assume this is my last take (3rd take).
i live in PA now but have lived in NJ/NY for most of my life and would like to work in NY eventually. i'll be applying to Penn regardless, just to give it a shot.
the regional school that seems attainable in the area is Fordham. but aside from that there is Columbia/NYU.
is it even worth taking a flier on those two schools? there is pretty much no chance. and like you said, GT, going to a regional school might be best out of t14.
so the plan for me remains to shoot for most of the t14s from penn to gulc, and if not resort to fordham.
your thoughts are appreciated as always

Re: DECEMBER 2014 WAITERS (New Poll!!)
If you do get the 170, there's a teeny tiny chance you could snag NYU, and you might have luck with Penn if you ED. But if it's a 169 or below, myLSN says you're out at most of the upper T14.
GULC and Cornell could be feasible. Cornell places well in NYC.
e: Fordham seems to not be giving full rides to those numbers, which seems odd. But the average $ is about 30-60K per LSN. I'd take Cornell closer to sticker over a small scholarship at Fordham, but ymmv.

Thanks. I think I want to practice in La, Tx, or Tn. So far, I'm thinking Louisiana because I only have work-wise connections here (and they are pretty good connections). My main concern is: what if I get married one day. haha! Seriously, what if I marry and move off somewhere. I'd want to be able to practice anywhere. Should I barely get into low T14 and pay full price versus lower ranked on full ride? Not saying those will be attainable but they may be.

If you're unlikely to get substantial scholarship money in the T14, then ED to a school like Penn might make sense. But it depends on your situation.santoki wrote:sedac, thanks! good luck to us both :'(
GT, isnt the consensus around TLS that ED = doom?
pennlaw's round 2 ED is January 7, il just get everything ready before then.
when i was foraging forums last year when i thought id be applying, EVERYONE was bashing on the notion of ED.
but i still kind of an inclined to think it might be ok

What are your thoughts on Cornell? I think you'd have a good shot if you score 169/170, and you might get some money. It places very well in NYC.santoki wrote:its tough to say exactly what my goals are, but i can say with confidence that i want to be in NYC.Dirigo wrote: What are you goals, bunny?
my goals fluctuate from wanting biglaw to wanting to work in an immigration firm.
and i know what you mean by fordham, thats what scares me.
if i dont t14, id still consider bc/bu/gw over fordham regardless of region
