Analysis for PT 57 S3 Q25
If you accept (B) as true, then you have to accept (E) as true.
But (E) is the CR because it uses weaker language (e.g., "many") and more general terms (e.g., "prefer") than (B). And (E) limits the scope of "employees" by explicitly saying: "employees in the manager's company," whereas (B) just says "employees" (does that mean all employees in the world? Or most employees in the manager's company? We don't know!) So (E) is the most strongly supported by the stimulus.

I remember getting that question wrong and struggling with it, it's a tough one.
B is a trap answer because its focus is on "familiarity > ease". E talks about "preference".
There are cases that are consistent with the stimulus and invalidate answer choice B. But there are no such cases for answer choice E.
What if other company employees use the old software instead because of cross-software compatibility? What they use the old software because it works on PC and Macs, and they have PCs at home, while Macs at work? None of these things have to do with "familiarity > ease", but they all fit with "preference".

We need to take a minute and look back at perhaps the greatest exchange in TLS history.
From a thread asking what the best pencil to use is for LSAT purposes:

The Dixon Ticonderoga is also excellent. For children.

I suppose you have a point... tho I wouldn't call them sexier... the Ticon Black are def better lookin IMOGreenTee wrote:So glad the next generation is discovering the delight that is the Pencil Thread.
But let me clear something up: Scholarly Sweets is rocking the Palomino HB, which is about 1000 times sexier than the Ticon Black, and hence, much more likely to yield a 180. If you really want to up your pencil class, get your hands on some Palominos.

fuck that noise. All style, no substance. We need that gameday performance. I wouldnt trust a Palominos with my 8 year old brother for his math test.GreenTee wrote:So glad the next generation is discovering the delight that is the Pencil Thread.

got it all figured out... I've been meaning to go to staples and get some but havent figured out what I want... tho I should just convince my work to buy a certain type of pencils to just take frompeppermint wrote:This is true, the Blackwings write very smooth and dark but the lead is almost a little too soft. I also don't like how heavy they are b/c of the metal eraser contraption thing on them.GreenTee wrote:Agreed. The blackwing is a great looking pencil with a ton of sex appeal, but its tip is just way too soft to be a good LSAT pencil. The Palomino HBs have flair, but they also function brilliantly for diagramming and RC markup.
I use Staedtler Mars Lumographs to study with (JetPens was having a sale on them last year so I bought a bunch) & Mitsubishi Hi-Uni whenever I PT. The Hi-Uni pencils are lightweight but not too light like the Mars pencils, they write super smooth but not as soft as the blackwings, and erase cleanly. I'll be taking a box of those to the exam.
