Re: December 2013 Retakers
PT 57:
LG -0
LR1 -0
LR2 -0
RC -6
95/101 = 175
Blind reviewed 6 for 6 on RC misses. Just didnt have the focus I needed during the RC section, this became apparent to me reading the Cather passage (although I "only" missed 2 on that passage). Been using the trainer and trying to read for structure. I feel like when I'm in the test mode, I have a hard time focusing on structure and am reverting back to my old habits. Any advice?
How did people feel on overall difficulty of 57?

I understand what your saying kind of. But i feel like the answer choice is mistaken logic. In the stim it says, Functional autonomy-->more realistic planning. But the AC says ~functional autonomy-->~maximally realistic planning. I think that is what is messing me up here. The LSAT usually has answer choices like this there as traps and they are usually always wrong.melodygreenleaf wrote:Ah I had trouble explaining this, but hope this helps.agglomeration wrote:OK need help with another one. PT 45 S4 Q18. I have read the entire discussion on MLSATS board about this question and it still isn't clicking properly. Here is my diagram
Can someone help explain this one to me in a very broken down way?
Think of this scenario. "If you go to Bakery A, you will always get two more pastries." Thus if you don't go to Bakery A, you haven't maximized the number of pastries you have. Whether you already have 2 or 100 pastries, you can always get two more by going to Bakery A, so you haven't hit your maximum #.
So if you apply this same concept to the question, large institutions whose divisions do not function autonomously don't have planning that is maximally realistic because they can always have more realistic planning by enabling divisions to function autonomously.

Depends on your score, I guess. 165 to 166 wouldn't mean much if your aspirations are t14, but I would think 167 to 168 would mean something, and so on, as the person gets closer and closer to all the t14 medians.bee wrote:yikkkkessss but then your app would be late and not *that* much improvedrebexness wrote:Girl you crazy. Re: December 2013 Retakers
I'm going to make my official LG and RC LSAT predictions, since last time I was right on the money!
GAMES
1. Farmer deciding her crop rotation cycle for two years
2. Paintings to be hung in different rooms of a house
3. Placing fish in aquariums
4. Ascertaining the order of sporting events during a school field day
RC
1. M-theory
2. Nigerian garments
3. Maritime law
4. The novels of Adrienne Rich

Re: December 2013 Retakers
In this case, they're trying to trick you into not choosing the correct answer by making the credited answer seem like a mistaken negation when it's not. More realistic planning does not equal maximally realistic planning. They're actually the opposite. If you can have more, you're not at your maximum.agglomeration wrote:I understand what your saying kind of. But i feel like the answer choice is mistaken logic. For the AC choice to be wrong, it would have said ~functional autonomy -> ~more realistic planning. "Without functional autonomy, you can't have more realistic planning." By saying you can't have more, you're implying that you're at your maximum. The AC says the opposite - you're not at your maximum.

My strategy going forward is simple. Tests in back to back days followed by 1 day of rest for the next 11 days (the 11th day being the 2nd of a back to back. Then for the final 3 days, light studying, just doing a timed section here or there in order to stay sharp.

Re: December 2013 Retakers
Back on this thread after a couple weeks away grinding out the 600 pages of The Trainer. Why I even thought I could go through that many pages in a just a couple of days is beyond me.
PT 61 (first time I took it a few months ago, I scored a 171).
179 ---> my highest PT score ever!!!
RC: -2
LR: -1
LG: -0
LR: -0
I didn't remember any of the answers and there were also a couple of passages where I was like "wtf isn't this supposed to be a little familiar." I suppose that's good for retaking PT purposes. Anyway, I rushed on my last RC passage (the comparative) but I'll take the -2 on RC any day. There were also a handful (three exactly) LR questions where I couldn't eliminate all of the wrong choices in real time before picking an answer (because the ones I picked were so obviously right) but I'm hoping I can make some improvements on this working from wrong to right aspect of the game in the next couple of weeks.

Just submitted apps cause i figured it didn't matter when i submit since they wont even look at them until january. Do I have to notify them myself that I have a pending LSAT, or would they know automatically?
