**clarification. I always read the whole prompt first in RC, but not always in LR.

anyway - it is VERY clear that I suck at "Must be True" q types. Any hacks/suggestions? I think I'm approaching as an assumption q.

For MBT, I try to only see what I'm reading as facts and nothing more. Granted, that's how you should go about reading any stimulus, but without the caveat of prephrasing (but higher percentages don't mean higher numbers; correlations doesn't equal causation, yada yada). Basically, everything that you didn't read (assumptions, strengthen answers, etc) are incorrect and everything that you did read, but worded slightly differently or maybe not worded differently at all is the credited response.

MBT does not equal Necessary or Sufficient Assumption. Remember, an assumption is something that is unstated. If it helps, when it comes down to two choices that you're stuck on, change them to contrapositives and see if that does the trick. Oh, and be mindful of certain words. I think you know which ones

I am also a retaker, but have yet to do a retake (or a full one, anyway; had some complications when I tried last week). I have, however, been drilling like crazy out of cambridge books, tackling LR and LG the most. Going to try to do one this weekend.

Well, no, that's not how you go about reading any stimulus. MBT questions provide a set of facts (which do not amount to an argument) and ask us to make a logical inference. That's the difference. Most LR question types (flaw, assumption family, etc.) require us be critical of an argument. MBT questions require us to draw an inference from a set of facts. Those are two very different activities.

Whoosh...
That completely went over my head. I forgot that MBT questions don't contain arguments!

Just took a PT but not totally done drilling (PT 39). Got a 154 because I went -15 on games and freaked the f*** out. Also, I am halfway done drilling RC and am going to do them all again when school gets out, so my -12 on that should go up. Good luck!

Hey guys--

I'm a little busy throughout the week and have the wonderful responsibility of picking up my brother and his friend from school (I still live at home). Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are days when I work as a personal assistant; and Tuesdays and Thursdays are days when I intern in NYC (it's a short train ride for me). Currently thinking of severely cutting my hours as a personal assistant, or possibly even quitting entirely in order to start PTing. I usually get out at either 1 or 2 that day, but that only leaves me with a 2-3 hour window for testing, assuming the conditions are good (not too noisy, not too crowded, etc.). What do you all think? Testing Mon-Wed-Fri with a 4 hour window, if I can leave at 12, or calling it quits so that my only obligation for that day is picking up my brother and his friend?

Also, drilling in between PT's or no? As in, between days, not immediately after.

Why not just take the PT after picking up your brother and his friend?

Right on the money. I just finished speaking with my boss, and she said it's fine by her if I have to leave at 12 to go study. Looking forward to this next month and a half!
