Studying during the last day or two isn't necessarily a bad idea. Studying to the point of exhaustion and whipping yourself into a panic during that time is what must be avoided. Spending some time reviewing questions previously answered incorrectly is one good way to spend the last day or two. Reworking LG problems is another. For some a break might be best, but I don't believe that's universal.missinglink wrote:I'd advise anyone else to at least take the last day or two off, regardless of your level of preparation.

Got 156 on December. Been PT'ing over 165. Got 165, 166, 169 on last three PT's. Gonna take one more before game day and hope I can hit 164 or above. I would be stoked. My reach is UCLA, but if I make it into USD, I would be happy.

This happened to me in September, where I whipped myself into a panic-filled frenzy and had massive burnout. Lesson learned -- no more taking days off work prior to LSAT because all I did was sit around my house and panic.UTexas wrote:Studying during the last day or two isn't necessarily a bad idea. Good luck to everyone, I hope you all get the score you all worked hard for.

haha I called the lsac people like three weeks ago to order 59 and the lady on the phone, who admittedly was very sweet, told me that i wouldnt get 59 in time for the february test... idk what she was talking about, damn

Yeah that's also where I purchased some of my PTs. How is everyone's prep going? I just took PT 58 today. Did well on games and reading comp (surprisingly), but screwed up the first section of LR with -4 (actually -5 because I already knew about the bears question haha). The second LR wasn't too bad though. Some of those "resolve the paradox" and "weaken" questions still get to me though. They're like my downfall ughh. Good luck on Saturday everyone!

I just did PT 56 and totally bombed RC, -17. I'm thinking screw it, I've done enough studying, maybe I should relax and goof off, and get fresh for the real deal. I've never gotten RC -17 before.

It may be too late to suggest this, but it may help. I too had been doing very poorly on RC and received some advice: skip the passage with the fewest questions and spend more time on the three others. This way you can be (just about) sure that you'll get 20 or so questions correct. I did PT 56 on Saturday and get a −6 on RC, my best yet.TheTopBloke wrote:I just did PT 56 and totally bombed RC, -17. This is what I keep forgetting to do. I also just did PT 56, and was doing my regular accuracy in RC (80-90%), until my video proctor called out 5 mins and I was still doing the last question in question 3... Has to skim the last passage and just pick answers pointing to specific parts in the passages. Ended up with -7.Close Diamond wrote:It may be too late to suggest this, but it may help. I also got really demoralised after doing PT 56. I took a two day break from LSAT studying and absolutely bombed the LR and LG section of this PT. Really stupid mistakes and I had to end up guessing on the majority of the fourth LG. This is the first 5X PT that I scored below a 160 and is making me a bit concerned. I really enjoyed how easy the LG games got in starting the 4X series but recently the LR is nitpicking and the LG (I did the LG of PT 57, dinos....) seem to be moving more away from the straight linear or simple grouping games.
My goal for the next two days is to do PT 57 (today), do Kaplan Mastery on Assumptions/Parallel/Strengthen/Weaken/Flaw/Inferences and then treat PT 58 as what I should be capable of dong on the test day.
Does anyone also know if my analog watch with timer functionality (I have a Tissot PRC200) is allowed in the lsat? I have prepped with this watch exclusively and I finally picked up a cheaper watch on the weekend but it is definately not working out too well.

I found cambridgelsat.com and picked up the difficult games booklet. I've been doing games out of there and it seems to help. I'm sick, I actually enjoy the logic games. As long as I stay current, I should do just fine. I think in their PT56 5 section test they had dinos in the 'experimental' section. On that section I had -3. I had gone through LG bible from Powerscore previously and that helped tremendously. They're just games. Games are fun!

Re: February 2010 LSAT - 50 days and counting.
I am just about done. Only 58 left to take and not sure if I will. The last 6-7 PT's my average has dropped because of the change in LR. I went from about a 6-8 to consistently missing 10 each section. The change in format has really hammered me since I do well on games and RC. So if I screw up a game or mis-read something on RC it has a much larger effect on my score. I have gone from scoring a consistent 160 to a consistent 157 which has frustrated me to no end.
I am beginning to think the LSAC has targeted me specifically...

Lets do this! I am ready! Got 156 on Dec test, but hoping for a 165+ on this test. Been PT'ing in 165-170 range in last 4 tests. Root for me guys. I will be rooting for all of you.

I have taken like a million of these things and looking back at my tests see that for some reason 55 i bombed and i still dont think if i did it again i could do it on the test
i got all LG right on 56 and 58 (dont have 57) and am about to do 59
did anyone feel like LG 55 was a fluke or should I be concerned?

I did it last night. And I ended up doing awesome, but instead of making me happy, it made me angry that I didn't just take the Decemeber test. That curve was CRAZY.goosey wrote:taking dec 09 today. it will be my only realistic gauge since its the only one i havent taken!

I sure hope that 55 LG was a fluke. It kicked my butt compared to any other LG after PT 40-something.s0ph1e2007 wrote:I have taken like a million of these things and looking back at my tests see that for some reason 55 i bombed and i still dont think if i did it again i could do it on the test

Excited/nervous anxiety all over the place right now. I've got a super consistent PT score right now but who knows what I do on test day. I'm doing the RC section on 59 tomorrow morning (35 minutes for 6 dollars? It's as bad as airport internet) and then relaxing all day.
Anyways, question: Does anyone want to explain to me what people mean with they say the new LR sections? I've taken almost all of them and I didn't notice anything... Just out of curiousity. I'm not particularly worried about it, since it didnt seem to affect how I scored.

Super random but has RC gotten harder recently? I would be getting -1 or even perfects on RC in the old tests but I'm missing around 3-6 now on the most recent ones. And I didn't really realize this until recently when I started taking the latest tests

RC has gotten harder--the questions on dec 09 seemed weird to me.
In happy news I never knew that I didn't take the sept 07 test so I did it today and got a 166 despite not finishing games and getting -8 on games alone.
Did -0 on LR1 (first time evr on a modern lsat, feeling pretty damn good)
-2 on LR2 and -5 on RC(typical)
If I cud just get lucky with the test on sat, ill be sitting pretty at a 170. Come on lsacccc
Plan for tomm: lots of games and do sept 09 (I took the real thing) early in the day, then relax, watch a movie, take some tylenol pm at 6 pm and sleep for 12 hrs.
