To those of you who guess #2, you were correct
I had a feeling when I posted I would give myself away due to too much detail!
[my parents did...and then wrote in some rando Republican congressman from Utah because they couldn't bring themselves to vote for Trump or Hillary]

No, my lie is actually #1. I was one day away from becoming certified on vacation but I had to leave to come home before that and I never bothered to go through certification at home.Anon.y.mousse. wrote:My guess for yours is number 3.Law2020hopeful wrote:I will say that my lie is not number 2 (siblings)

Noo, so close! closest I've come to being SCUBA certified is taking snorkeling lessons in the dive pool at the local SCUBA gear store.Law2020hopeful wrote:No, my lie is actually #1. Okay mine:
1) When I graduate from law school, there will be three straight generations of lawyers in my family.
2) I've lived in 6 cities in the last 6 years.
3) I have never broken a bone.

Actually it's number 1 - only one of my grandparents went to college (which is crazy to think about), and my dad is an MD. I'll be the first in my extended family as far as I know. I keep telling him that I'm going to be a doctor though too... a juris doctor.Law2020hopeful wrote:I'll be the third straight generation of lawyers in my family too!Anon.y.mousse. wrote:Okay mine:

OK are we actually the same person??? My dad is an MD too! But my MIL and SIL are both attorneys (my husband is the one who first suggested LS to me)!Anon.y.mousse. wrote: Actually it's number 1 - only one of my grandparents went to college (which is crazy to think about), and my dad is an MD. i'm actually pretty jealous about your MIL and SIL, that's really cool that you have people to give advice and have been through all of this before!

Re: Feb 2017 Waiter's Thread!!!
haha I know. my dad certainly drilled the horrors of medical school and residency into my head enough! and he's not even a surgeon or a high-stress doctor...he doesn't deal with emergencies, so as far as work/life balance for an MD goes, he's got it pretty goodAnon.y.mousse. wrote:We must beairwrecka wrote:OK are we actually the same person??? it's kind of scary actually. also growing up everybody was like "do you want to be a doctor like your dad" and I was like uh hell no if anything it makes me never want to be a doctor, ever.

well, it's nice on the one hand, but also super annoying on the other. my SIL is actually really great and supportive, but my MIL wants to tell me how to do everything and really wants me to go into family law (like her) which is the LAST thing I want. she also thinks I should go to some random t3 school because "it doesn't matter where you go to law school...I have friends who went to Harvard and I make more than them!" well good for you lady, but I'm actually proud of my accomplishments and want to go to the best school financially possible for me.

Tell her you'll go anywhere she wants if she'll guarantee you 100k/year starting. Alternatively, tell her I'll go anywhere she wants if she guarantees me 100k/year starting!

Believe me, making 100k/year and living where she lives would not be worth it.AJordan wrote:Tell her you'll go anywhere she wants if she'll guarantee you 100k/year starting. Alternatively, tell her I'll go anywhere she wants if she guarantees me 100k/year starting!

Older attorney/MIL advice is classic TTT. You can't just be good at your job and ball out anymore. Need that t14 cv line or there's a hard ceiling
Over the last 49 releases, the most, 16, have been on Fridays (followed by 11 on Mondays). I'm feeling a 27th release date here

Ugh yeah I see that post. Guess the 28th is more realistic. I yearn for the good old days of those 13 day-early releases back in 'o4airwrecka wrote:but what about the fact that people have until Feb 27 to cancel their score (some posted about ITT a while back)?maybeman wrote:Older attorney/MIL advice is classic TTT. I don't know why someone had until the 27th. It was the 17th for me (I didn't cancel but I deliberately checked the deadline after that post). I'm hoping it was wrong.airwrecka wrote:but what about the fact that people have until Feb 27 to cancel their score (some posted about ITT a while back)?maybeman wrote:Older attorney/MIL advice is classic TTT.
