Actually did horribly on RC (-8), probably worse than on any of my PTs (usually -3/5)... really frustrated about that.
Don't have a game plan yet, but know that I need to focus on RC, improve LG, and brush up on LR.

Hope studying is going well for you all!
heck, even though i blind guessed on 1 full passage, miraculously rc turned out to be my best rc in recent pts. weird.

is the consensus among dec takers that lr2 was much harder than lr1?

Killoran said LR2 was a "doozy", but I went -3 on it and -6 on LR1. Games killed what would've been a respectable 165. Going to do 40+ hours per week until test day, looking for a job after. Just hope my school's WL me until my Feb score!

not sure if killoran took the test. if not, he probably wouldn't know for sure. with recent lr, the hardness of section is sorta hard to gauge based on other accounts i guess.

i have no idea how i dropped -5 on lr2 after -1 on lr1. didn't feel that lr2 was that difficult.

Checking in even though I wish I wasn't. Apparently I'm a freak and did great on games but went -10 on RC, damn Lamarckian evolution.

Already submitting apps as is and just hoping the retake can help with $ or get me off a wait list if need be.

Checking in. Really choked on December LSAT. PT average was 173-176. Scored a 167. I botched LR with a combined -7. The worst I've ever done. LG: -4 due to careless errors and ran out of time. RC: -4. All worse than my average. :(

I usually go -1 or -2 on each LR. In December I went -5 on LR 1 then -0 on LR 2. I think LR 1 was one of the most difficult LR sections I have come across yet. But I may just be weird

Can we still sign up for feb and is there a late fee? And if someone can mention what the deadlines are for dec takers i'd appreciate it. I bombed december and I guess I have to retake but its tough getting back into Lsat mode.

January 8th is the deadline, there is a late fee, but since you took the December test you should be eligible to get that refunded See below from LSAC:

Please Note
1.If you missed the regular registration deadline for the upcoming LSAT because you were waiting for your score from the previous administration, you are eligible, upon request, for a refund of the late fee you incur during the late registration period. (Read more)(click to expand/collapse)

After you register for the upcoming test, submit a written request for a refund of the late fee within 4 days after the late registration deadline. Please note that late fee refunds will be issued only to those who received a valid score for the prior administration. Refunds will not be issued to those who were absent, cancelled their score, or were dismissed from the test.

Please email your request to LSACrefunds@LSAC.org and insert Late Fee Refund in the subject line of the email.

2.December test takers who register by the regular registration deadline for the February 2016 LSAT after receiving their December score and who subsequently decide that they do not wish to take the February test will be eligible for a full test registration fee refund if they cancel their registration by January 8, 2016. tank you man. I guess I am going to sign up but its more than likely I withdraw later on. I am not in the same mindset in December I thought I was prepared and I feel like I forgot everything I studied, not too mention I have basically no fresh preptests, I dont see myself being better prepared than I was for december. But hey, its my only option now

some of the people who have posted scores scored better on lr1 than lr2. usually the lr with 26q is more difficult than the one with 25q if you look at most recent PTs. but my section scores on this test are just weird.

Hey guys. Need some advice here. I totally bombed LG on the Dec test (-11). Is it possible to start studying now until February and boost that to -0?

Thanks.

I think the answer here really relies on how you were doing before the December test and your performance on that test as well.

I think you need to answer the following questions to yourself to get to an idea on the LG.

What's your average look like for LG on PTs? Was December just a fluke or is that representative of where you are currently on LG?
When you do LG sections are you getting to all of the games or are you running out of time on Game 3?
When you review your practice sections are you able to come to the right answer with unlimited time (blind review) or are you still struggling to the get answers?

I think that if you are typically in the -4 to -6 range (1 game missed) you can get there with a lot of effort in a month. If you are averaging in the -10 to -12 (2 games missed) then its a lot tougher to get there in a month, as its likely representing both a time and familiarity issue on the games.

For me the LG Bible was a huge help in getting to the -0 range. I started in the -3 to -5 range (struggling with the last game typically), and I went though everything in the bible. After the bible I was in the -0 to -2 range and just drilling has gotten me to the point that I haven't missed a LG question in probably 10 PTs.

Agreed. LR1 kicked my ass and I went -1 on LR2.

Edit: Also, tentatively checking in. Scored a 168 in December, which is probably good enough for most of my target schools, but I'm signed up for Feb and will prob end up retaking because why the hell not? And scholarship money. Went -4 in RC, -8 in LR1 (lol), -1 in LG and -1 in LR2. Hopefully can avoid the disastrous section this time around and finally get that 170+.

i haven't looked at exactly which ones i missed as i want to take this as a PT later, but i had a few minutes left over in lr2. my average was -1.8 total lr on new tests but dropped to around -6 total on the very recent ones (73+) right before the test day. -5 in lr2 when i didn't find it to be difficult on the real deal is slightly worrying to me.

it's interesting how there are many people who did much worse on lr2 than lr1 and vice-versa. kinda shows how random this shit can be.

Has anyone figured out exactly how LR has gotten harder/changed recently? I took the October test and got -10 in LR, my lowest ever (-5 on each section). My cold diagnostic was -8 and subsequent PT average before the test was -3 to -5.

Checking in...unfortunately.

This will be my final retake. I don't really have a choice. I'm young (KJD) and I'm not responsible for all of my bills. My family said that if I did not go to law school this cycle, they would cut off all financial help. To be honest, I barely studied for the LSAT the first two times. I could not put much effort into it since I was still in school full time and worked 30 hours a week.

I'm taking a Kaplan class to do a February retake. I'm hoping that I can get on the wait lists for some schools with my current score (not disclosing) and get off with the February retake. It's a short turnaround time but I can actually put my all into it now that I've graduated. If I could, I would definitely not retake the LSAT until June and I would apply next cycle. Since losing financial support is not my cup of tea, I'll just hope for the best and go to the highest ranked school with the most amount of scholarship money with whatever my final LSAT score is. :|

Hey everyone,

Checking in... I took the LSAT in October and December (165 and 162), and I will take it again in February. I was very disappointed by my December score especially because I practice around 167-170. I don't know where it went wrong because I took the test at an undisclosed test center but considering my score, apparently everywhere!!

Has any of you been in this situation and was able to turn it around? Do you have any tips for me? Anything will be greatly appreciated :D

Thanks and best of luck to you all!

I think it has changed in that it has become less formal logic and more subtle. If you are scoring at 180s then you're going to score the same -0/-1 in lr, but for most people I guess there will be a difference.

My average for lr on older sections was -1.8 combined on both lr sections but on the 72 onward I was going around -6 total lr.

Just took PT 61 and was pleasantly surprised with a 167. Trying to get to 170, but considering my 163 from Oct and 162 from Dec, this was encouraging. I think this was my 5th or 6th PT since my diagnostic last Feb and the first above 163. Just didn't have the time to prep for real until now. Hopeful that I can make up enough ground over the next few weeks. Trying to do at least 2 PTs per week with 40 hours of drilling / reviewing.

RC -8  (2nd and 3rd passages killed me.)
LR1 -2 (not terrible)
LG -4 (This is just who I am right now. Drilling daily to improve.)
LR2 -2 (Only missed the last 2 questions while running out of time, looking forward to BR tomorrow.)

*174 on BR, hope this means I'm close.

Awesome, keep up the good work! I took my first diagnostic since the Dec test and got 162 (165 on Dec test) this weekend. Not too concerned though for now, since my brain hasn't thought about LSAT at all for five weeks. Going to go full blast starting tomorrow, working through the PS (LG) and Manhattan (LR, RC) books and focusing on the ~10 most recent tests (unfortunately, I have already taken all but one, but I still think it's important to focus on the latter tests since that's when my PT scores started to decline; I have a few older tests that I will use as metrics throughout the process). I actually didn't BR when studying for the December test, so I am aiming this time to be more thorough and make the most of each exam.

I've already submitted my apps so I'm pretty nervous, but hopefully studying for the LSAT will distract me from the constant waiting.

Good luck studying this week!

First serious day back prepping. I think I'm going to spend most of my time doing PTs and timed individual sections.

God I hate this test.

When's the last day to withdraw and change our test date? I don't mind paying a late fee for changing too.

Thanks.
