Also, do you guys do vertical diagrams and rule drawings for vertical games (e.g., "there are 6 floors in an office building") or do you just convert those to horizontals?

I do all linear ordering games horizontally. For my first hypothetical I write what the left and right sides mean (i.e. in the case of a building I would write "top" on the left and "bottom" on the right to keep my thoughts straight)

If the game has a "vertical layout" I always just diagram horizontally

Personal preference, I just never got used to diagramming rules and making inferences vertically

Okay that's what I was thinking of doing as well. Any confusion from forgetting which way is "up" / "down" will be less than the confusion of drawing rule blocks sideways.

I hate LG so much. I wish they'd replace it with another RC or something.

I think it is personal preference, but I usually end up drawing them vertically. It just helps me visualize/remember the rules better and that helps me keep tract of them. It also helps me for if they give a rule that says "Floor A is either on the top floor or the bottom floor" or something like that. But as long as you are comfortable with your setup and make the correct deductions I don't think it matters which way you draw the setup.

I've been using the Blueprint LG book and writing my answers/work on a blank piece of paper. I am not timing myself yet because I am only getting the basics down. As I finish a game, I refer back to the video answer that's given online on blueprint's website to see what I got wrong/write down any notes for myself to refer back to in the future.

I printed out some games but I'm afraid to use them just yet because I don't want to run out of games too early in the game.

That's basically what I'm doing. Right now I just need to get the basics down. Once I feel like I know what I'm doing I'll focus on getting that "test day experience."

don't worry about that lol there are tons of games and redoing games is very common so if you've got lower PT games it won't hurt to start doing them now

Also, it seems like the games from the oldest PTs are like twice as hard as modern ones.

Really? That's not good news. I need LR to be easier not LG.

Seems like nowadays RC is harder, LG is much easier, and LR is about the same but includes fewer "conditional logic" questions.

Hi, how many hours are you guys studying per day?
Had a pretty good week last week, however, this week has been awful since I had finals. It's so hard to be consistent, there's always something that comes up.

My average daily study time for the past six months is like 0.0001 seconds. I'm just now starting to buckle down.

Hiyo!

I've only been lurking on this site, but I just registered for June and figured I'd check in. I'm working full-time and taking a non-LSAT class, but hopefully between now and June I'll be able to get in good shape. Haven't really done much in the way of prep yet, but I'm looking to start soon! Gogo, fighting~~! \o/~

Oh man I didn't realize we could register this early. I'll have to do that.

I've done diddly-sqaut up until my winter break started. I'm working Mon-Thurs now, and by the time I get home, unwind, etc. it's like 7pm, which leaves me about 3 hours a day to actually do enough work where I'm concentrating and taking in material.

I'm going to have to put it into overdrive on the weekends during break and when my semester starts again. Thank God for only Tues/Thurs classes this spring. I will definitely be spending all semester in the library to prep.

Some things to watch out for in the Lsats of preptests 70-74:

1) Either one or two really difficult games with other easier ones/ older games being brought back (pattern/ circular)
2) Really time-consuming difficult games. This is starting to become more prominent now and many of the best test-takers report not being able to complete the games on Sept/Dec 2014.
3) Don't expect to finish the first 15 LR in 15 minutes. Some of the earlier questions are now the most difficult of the entire section. LSAC has placed them throughout to break our flow.
4) LR-longer and more convoluted stimuli, very tricky answer choices, long parallel/ principle questions. These are designed to test our ability to complete the section on time.
5) RC has become much more difficult

Make sure you do full timed practice tests with a scantron sheet later on in your study. The LSAT has evolved in the recent tests and many of us are still trying to adapt our strategies to match it.

How do you guys feel about test centers? I don't have any summer plans yet so I'm not sure what to do.

Option 1 - School City
Pro: Test center is at my own college, so I'd be more familiar with it. Also, it and the surrounding schools are fairly reputable, so maybe the test-takers would be more "serious" and less likely to cause distractions.
Con: Would either need to drive for over an hour to the location or find summer housing and a job to pay for it = stress

Option 2 - Home City
Pro: Could live with parents so food and housing would be free. No stress.
Con: Test site would be at a smaller and less reputable college.

I could find at least one job, internship, or volunteer opportunity at either location, so that isn't too important, though Option 1 demands that I get a well-paying job so I can afford to live there.

RZ is there a hotel near your college? You could live at home, have less stress and then sleep closer to the test center the night before so you don't have to drive an hour in the morning and take it at the test center you are more comfortable with.

Yeah that might work too. I guess I should just register for there.

I just did a game correctly in only 9 minutes. Yay lol

IMO, you should register at your own college since you will be the most comfortable with that... Stay with your parents. You don't want stress while studying. As JackelJ said, I would stay at a hotel for a night or two before the exam
