I used the watch from this thread, and I was very pleased with it, and eupelia was great to deal with. I don't know anything about that other watch.

I bought this watch about two months ago and have been using it while I study for the June 2011 LSAT and am loving it! I call it my "nerd watch" with endearment and have really found it to be helpful so far. I'm looking forward to using it with confidence on test day - thanks again, eupelia!

Re the 180 Watch, that also looks cool and I like that you can just push a button to reset it, but I would be weary in case a) it didn't arrive for test day b) I didn't have enough time to practice using it.

How does opelia's watch deal with the second hand? Does that go back to zero for each section?

The 180watch looks like you just push a button and both the second hand and minute hand reset to zero.

Sorry I'm so anal about this but I'll have enough to worry about when I get to LGs!!

She does seem really nice though and clearly stands behind her product

The second hand doesn't move when you reset the watch. I didn't find that this made any difference when I was using my watch.

You will end up somewhat in the zone and will hardly remember to check your watch. I honestly wouldn't spend too much time or money on it.

I just bought a 10 dollar watch at Wal-Mart, made sure the face was white and drew Sharpie lines at the 8:45 marks. There was time to reset it to 12:00 between every section which I did, but even during LG I hardly glanced at it.

+1. I thought the watch was helpful, and even if I only scored one point better as a result of using it (for practice and on test day) in my case, that one point was probably the difference between T14 and not. Given all the money I spent on prep tests and 5 hour energies, the 20 bucks was a worthwhile drop in the bucket.

Yeah I'm sure some people are different, I just remember being particularly surprised at how little I used it, and most of the people I spoke to during and after the test made similar remarks.

If the extra money helps you to feel more comfortable though, in the big scheme of things it is an important test and probably worth it.

The second hand doesn't move when you reset the watch. I didn't find that this made any difference when I was using my watch.

Mine doesn't have a second hand - it has a little nub, I believe she cuts them off. The minute hand works fine for me.

I just purchased a watch earlier this week. I have repeatedly emailed Claudette even though for some reason the paypal payment was to Barbara Goyanes. Anyways I not received any replies and am getting worried that this may just be a scam. Though I have read through the numerous posts by people praising Claudette I was hoping for the best and I still am. However, there no communication between me and the seller at this time. I am hoping for the best and hope that perhaps there are some extreme circumstances which have led to the delay in communication.

Just be patient, it's not a scam. She does not do this professionally, and she may be in law school herself at the moment and just kind of busy. She's legit, and I'm sure that if you got charged you will get your watch.

According to her website she is in law school so she is probably just really busy at the moment.

Also, my paypal payment was to that same name and I got my watch soon after ordering it.

That's really strange, I can't imagine why she would be unavailable to so many people. All I can say is that she was very legit my dealings with her, and I can assure you that it's not a scam that involves creating two alts with 1000+ posts to vouch for her. I hope you guys get it straightened out.

hey guys so claudette got back to me, she was really busy, here is her reply to me so don't worry she has just been busy with school

I'm so sorry I've been running around the country and lost my iphone and just got home. I can definitely do regular mail without any problem! My hope is to get the watches out tomorrow or Thursday at the latest. I have a closing statement competition tomorrow night which I did NOT prepare for and am freaking out! aackk!

I really wanted to get one of these watches, but because of conflicting info from LSAC about their watch policies I emailed them so I could print out the "OK" and bring it test day just in case. After asking if it was ok to have a minute breakdown instead of regular markings and if I could remove or trim the hour hand, I got this reply:

Thank you for your inquiry to LSAC:

You are allowed to bring an analog watch that has a second, minute and hour hand.

Don't know if that makes these ok...

Go back and read the rest of this thread, I'm pretty sure that someone email LSAC and got an okay based on a more detailed descripiton of the watch.

I read the whole thread before deciding to get one and to email lsac. Some people got the ok, some got denied. It was conflicting enough that I (and others suggested also) thought it would be best to get an email to print because without evidence of it being ok, proctors who are unsure will likely err on the side of caution and say no. I described the watch in detail and asked multiple questions, but I only got that one basic sentence as a reply. Maybe I picked a bad time to email (being soon after the Feb test I'm sure they're getting lots of email) but I definitely want a firm "yes" before I buy one and get used to testing with it. Maybe I'll email them again later.
