A 175 off a -14 curve is worth the exact same as a 175 off a -8. LSAT is supposed to be proficient at this curve-building bullshit after-all.

I'm debating canceling and just rolling with my 169...I've barely been able to study this month and I'm traveling for work Tues-Thurs, so probably will have literally 0 time to study this week. What do you guys think?

Yeah, I'm not sure if I have enough time. I have to learn sentence correction and the entire quant section from nearly scratch. They also apparently added a new section since I took it last, so I don't really think a month will work with my work schedule....I'm gonna take a practice one on dec 3 to just see where I'm at though (will be hungover on dec 2)

If you don't think your score will go up, you're better off canceling and applying now. But if you think you will go up (by even a point) I think you should retake. I ran the numbers through mylsn (since we have the same stats :p) and you're slightly better off applying in December-January with anything 170+ than you are applying in November with a 169.

I've been thinking of canceling and applying next cycle. It's going to be late in the cycle once we get our Dec scores back, and I'd likely get a higher score if I wait til Feb/June because I graduate in December and then I'll have more free time. I'm trying to decide if I care more about going to law school this cycle or (likely) getting into a better school next cycle.

I don't think any of them are going to be concerned if you drop 2 or 3 points. They will see a lower score but unless it is a large drop, I don't think a lower score will hurt. However, like some one else said, even a point increase could be a game changer for you, and 2-3 points could be worth 10s of thousands.

I think if there is anyway you can put off some of your work and focus for the next 5 days you have much more to gain by retaking than cancelling. Couple of lost points, no big deal. 1-3 point gain = huge difference.

With the number of test takers being down, and assuming there is at least a proportional drop in 168+ test takers you may be golden with a 169. I still think there is much more to gain in your situation by retaking than there is canceling.

My issue is that with a 3.68 GPA, if I can manage to push it to 3.7+ this semester, it'll make a fairly big difference.

I have a 3.92 but I have this whole fucking standard i set for my self. But for one week I really need to say fuck it. If get a B or two this semester its not going to break me. That 3.92 is backed by 110 credits, shit aint changing that much.

Its just hard to ignore responsibilities.

The B's could be enough to put you below those magical HYS medians!

That's an awesome GPA and you'll be fine if you get a few Bs this semester.

My school curves to a C and doesn't give A+s so I feel like my school is screwing with my law school chances. Most of my classes grade on a 0-100 scale and only put letter grades on the transcript. I have gotten 98-100 in every single one of my classes the last two years, but they put them on my transcript as As instead of A+s. If I had known this going in I would never ever have chosen this school. (Didn't do quite as well freshman and soph year, but if my As were all A+s, my GPA would be significantly higher).
