Oatmeal, peanut butter, and sugar cookie game is a great sequencing one. Green/red/white balls in boxes are good as well.

I really like these b/c you are supposed to...

Guys I recommend using "my first Ticonderoga" pencils for RC and LR. Pencil is a lot thicker, so it's much faster to bubble questions on the scantron. Saves about 30 seconds per section.

Beads on a strand has, in my opinion, one of the most devious LSAT game questions of all time.

TBH, not sure what else. I haven't really concerned myself with games very much recently. Off the top of my head... there is a game involving musicians like classical / modern pianist two layer sequencing that resolves really nicely. Relative ordering with ships coming into a harbor is good... I mean I'd make sure to look at a relative ordering or two that involve ifs / either but not both type wordings...

pt 36 game 3 with the bus seating. That game is weird mix between sequencing and like in/out grouping. By far one of the hardest games I think has ever been made, I'm actually surprised that most people don't talk about this game when talking about super hard games. But it tests both conditional logic and complex sequencing/grouping and I think J.Y's video on it has some important lessons.

I thought PT 18 G3 (subway lines) was extremely similar to viruses. The first time I looked at it I had no clue what to do, but I had an "aha" moment, and after that it seemed to be a fairly simple game. Might be worth a look though.

i guess it's just personal choice but I'll take the beads game 100 times over viruses.
Oh - I totally agree. It just has one question that is unbelievably sneaky IMO.

That bus seating game is def one of the hardest LSAT games there is IMO... far harder than dinosaurs IMO

I feel like a key and underdiscussed inference for dinos is...

Code: Select all

the green and yellow dino are the same thing...they aren't red and they aren't mauve...that's all that matters about them

Oh yeah totally, the early games actually have a lot in common with the very new games in that its all about setting up a diagram that makes sense and going from there. Like PT 72 is extremely easy if you can just set up the first bits of that diagram. Same thing pt 77's weird game, if you just understand the basic rules of the game, its extremely easy.

3.5, we'll 3.48 to be super specific.
ahh. well i don't think with a 175+ you'll be out of the T14 with a 3.48 but money wise, i have no clue.

one of my friends with a 3.0 174 got into northwestern with decent money I think like 1/2? but that was also a while ago so times have changed hopefully for the better.

assert your dominance by chewing louder Mikey
yeah, i think with lower median GPA/LSAT stats now, the chance of more money is better now than it was a few years ago. (e.g. my buddy who applied in 2013 had a 3.7x 171 and didn't get a dime from NYU, and only got like 23k/yr from Fordham. ended up going to fordham lol, but it was his choice so oh well). as opposed to now, someone with a 3.7x 171 will most likely get at least a small amount of scholly from NYU since 171 is their 75th now, and of course URM status, WE, etc. is taken into account blah blah blah

i don't think so. NYU's median GPA is a 3.8 so a 3.7 is below that and i don't think being below either median will get you a full ride unless possibly your LSAT is like a 175-180 and your gpa is a 3.5 like yours, then i think you might get really good money but idk about a full ride. also, keep in mind that the full rides they tell you that they give out include those who get them from named scholly's/programs (RTK for example).

I AM NOT OKAY NEED MORE TIME JESUS GOD WHY
I pretty much have the same plan. Work on weird games on days I don't PT and just keep PTing and reviewing.

My two things that make me nervous are I haven't done PTs in distracting environments enough, and I feel like that hurt me a little in September. I'm also out of fresh PTs so that sucks but not the end of the world.

All in all, I'm ready for the test and definitely feel better two weeks out than I did in September. I'm not too excited or too anxious. It just feels like any other day.
I am going to make a packet of the weirdest/most difficult games, and run threw that 2 or three times during the days I do not PT. Likely select 16 to 20 games, and break them down into sections of four.

Since I have tests 72-78 and 79 will be coming in mail soon, I am likely just going to photocopy the RC passages and run threw them once or twice more on days that I am not doing a PT. Ultimately, I think that being very familiar with RC passages from the last 3 to 4 years will be more beneficial than a familiarity of the most difficult passages over the course of 79 PT's.

Same old same old on LR. I have all questions by type for tests 40-60, so will just drill the question types that I tend to take a tad more time then others, and questions types that are not a insta-point on a first glance.
When you do these packets do you do 4 games/passages in 35 min then take a little break and then another group? Whats your structure for this type of drilling
Typically I review after completing a series of 4. Blind review first (assuming I am not entirely convinced that my answers are correct), followed by my personal review process in which I after the blind review or my initial attempt I check for the correct answer, and then try to replicate that answer with a diagram/inference. If the game was especially difficult then I will watch a 7sage video on it. If did poorly on the game, usually more than -1 or took especially long, then I will save the game for a later attempt.

I am actually going to run threw a most difficult packet after completing all games 40-60. I will likely throw any games I have issue on into difficult packet. I still have a decent number of games from PT's 1-40 that I have tagged for a second attempt, so my difficult/redo games will likely be closer to a packet of 30. This will be the entirety of my games review before the test. Will likely complete 40-60 in the couple of days, and then complete the second packet in the later portion of this week and early next week.

I'd expect someone with my GPA with a 176 and applied super early, was hounding them during negotiations would probably end at like 3/4 and maybe full if they had lady luck know on their side.

the only thing any can hope for is another drop in the medians so they get desperate lol
Lol yeah. I mean it's unpredictable for people with a GPA like yours so you just gotta apply and see what happens, ya know?

watch out or your schools secret police will come for you.

i miss school so much lol, that's why I'm kind of antsy at thinking I'll get close to full at a T20 this cycle and just bite there.
That's a reason I'm taking the year off before LS now. When I graduated high school, I took a semester off because I knew I liked law (sounds cheesy and generic but I have been planning on law for a long time believe it or not) but I didn't know when I wanted to start college. After that semester off I missed school a lot, even tho I was a shitty HS student, I went to college and was extremely motivated in college bc of it. So I'm hoping something of the sort happens for 1L after the time off, bc right now, I'm like half-assing college when I used to settle for no less than an A back in freshman year but now I'm like idgaf as long as I'm outta this place soon, which isn't good lol.

PT 69
171

LG-0
LR-4
LR-2
RC-4

Stoked to have put down a 170+ on this test..didnt get too much sleep and didnt think I was going to do well. This test seemed pretty easy, relatively. LG was a joke (finished with 8 minutes to spare) and LR didnt have too many surprises. Would be elated to end up with this though.
